Sound (Mic) Problem w/ CS

Hmm, i just did i total Re-Build of my Computer, adding a newer SoundBlaster 128, but, when i play on CounterStrike, i get an Error telling me that i can't use my mic because something is using it... heres the message anyway...:


MMSystem004. The Specified Device (My Microphone) is already in use. Unable to Initialize WAVE-IN. Trying Direct sound. Unable to Initialize WAVE INPUT.
You won't be able to speak to other Players through the Microphone.

I need this sorting, because i use Voice Comm alot now...

Hmm, I got that with my SB16 but I assumed it was cos it was an ISA card and they ain't s'posed to be supported. I guess I was wrong.

It happens when someont ing else is using wave-in.

Maybe another voice comms program, or some sound program you have on.

Could you explain to me what the WAVE-IN is?

The reason i ask is because i CAN use Sound Recorder, but i am confused coz that uses the Mic too..?

It did work w/ myy Old Graphics Card... but i believe this is a Newer Version, so why why why??

It means there is another program using your soundcard's mic port.

I'm currently getting this error, but that's because i'm on Linux and run HL through wine.

Found a Solution that works perfect, and hassle free...

Re-Installin my old SoundCard.. AND IT WORKS lol
