Sorceress or not to sorceress

Is there any point in having a sorceress when minstrels are getting aoe mezz?

Sorcerer mez: 3 sec casting time (I think), 1+ min duration, 400 radius (I think), QC, normal amount of power used.

New minstrel mez: 5 sec casting time, 30 sec duration, 250 radius, huge amount of power used.

Compare and choose.

minstrel has decent armour (chain) versus sorcerer who use wet tissue.

Minstrel can charm above own level

Speedbuff minstrel is much faster

Stealth....

I think i made mistake when started a sorc

And some nice DD's, powersong, healingsong and a short duration stun.

Comparing mezzing capability here, not all abilities both classes have.

Sorceress can actually hit things (with spells) for more damage than a used tea-bag ...

And sorcerous pets don't flip out on you every so often. (But I forgive my Priestess of Purity for trying to smite me, since she did manage to give me all the right buffs when she was in a good mood, which makes her better than some clerics I have known!)

Oh, and sorcerers never have to swap instruments. I found my sorceress seems a lot more powerful than the minstrel -- dies a lot more too, though.

I was creating a sorceress for the reason she has great CC and can pet mobs (i want to pet a telemon!). With the extra skills for the minstrel class recently did get and the ability's it will get my main reason for the sorceress class is gone

Sorceress has nice debuffs, DoTs and nukes which is fun 2

There's a reason minstrels are often refered to as Albion's secondary CC class...

You just can't compare minstrels with sorcs. Stop trying to.

I love having a sorc around - wicked crowd control, debuffs, roots, pets and nukes ..... I've levelled 43 levels with Lunar now and as an infil myself I really appreciate their value

Naturally, Jupitus dear..

Without the AE mezz, your life would have been cut short many a time more than it has.

I know the debuffs arent very effective in RvR at the moment, but in PvE they really make a difference, and I have seven of them now, both single and AE.

And my dd, although not specced very high yet, still manages to hit for up to 400 on a good crit shot.

Oh yes, and later, the AE root will come in handy

But yes, we do wear wet tissue, and yes, we can only tame yellows at best, and yes we are always the first to go down in a fight, but I'd rather be a sorc than any other class.

We are one of the harder classes to play effectively and we are also one of the rarer classes, so go make your sorceress and enjoy the challenge. We need more of them in Albion, oh yes , we certainly do.

Id rather have same PBAoE as Ice Wizzie, 'cause then we wuoldnt need AE mez in PvE. Just do PBAoE grps like all hibs do
