Go Mind to about 36 and rest body or matter depending on which you prefer. Go mind to 50 if you enjoy being a groupie bitch. I, on the otherhand, never cater to what other people want and play how I see fit. I will have 2nd best power regen buff, 2nd best body nukes and AE root and all the nice debuffs and I will be able to put up a good fight against mobs and/or other players.

Depends on your playstyle, personally I'm going to go 45 Body 29 Mind in 1.59 (respeccing from 48 Body 24 Mind).
With the new radius on the 24 Mez and it's (hopefully) longer range, I think this will be a nice spec.
If you always run with a group and like playing pure support, then 49 Mind rest Body/Matter is the way to go.

This is my RvR spec and I would recommend it ^^ .
However, for PvE I would recommend going to at least 34 Mind (my old spec was 34 Mind 41 Body).

Hmm, your lvl 24 spell will be resisted a lot.
The higher your spell lvl, the less chance it will be resisted.
So getting a lvl 24 aoe mezz is pretty crap.
I will respec my sorc to 49 mind.
Put +11 body on my sc suit, so I atleast do some damage with my lifetaps...

Tests done by Sorcs from the US concluded that the 44 mez only has a 10% better chance to not be resisted versus the 24 mez.
tbh I don't really see much diff when I use the 24 mez, YMMV

sorc is the main CC class of albion, no other class can match our abilities for CC, and Crowd control is what you are expected to do. If u join a group your job is to mezz, just like a healers job is to heal and a theurgists is to type /s afk 1 sec, pbt is on.
Mezzing will get you up the levels, think about speccing high mind till 50 then, and only then would i even consider dropping mind to 24 which imho is stupid. My spec is 34 mind 41 body atm, and if we get a respec im taking it to 46 mind rest matter simply because bodyis so gimped its funny because everybody has very high body resists:
your DD hits for 130 (-200)
so until body spec gets buffed up i'd keep mind high (minimum 34) for 1875 mezz range, larger radius AND power regen buffs, these are going to make us so uber its unfunny, minstrels will find themselves with less to do when there is a high mind sorc in a group. Body sorcs will be the smite clerics of the power regen business, people will think w00t a sorc only for you to say, "btw i'm body spec) and everyon will think FFS! just like they do when a cleric says, "btw i'm smite spec i can't heal, which is what my class is designed to do"
body is our nuke line, with an aoe root which is handy, and it allows you to solo more often, but you'll have a GREEN con pet, your DD will still be WAY below that of a wizzy or an Air theurgist and i think you'll get frustrated with your choice of spec.
although Grymulv, who is a top class sorc (highest Rps on excal) is a 50 body sorc, however he is usually in groups which contain some of albions elite players and so does well most of the time.

i'm entitled to my opinion, and thus my opinion is that clerics should heal/buff primarily and really only leftovers should be put in smite...
how many times you go whoopee!! a smite cleric joining the group! ? i was making a reference that a body sorc will get the same welcome after the patch

Well before the smite nerf i considered clr's the backbone of the albion army...
both the healing and the smiters... but the nerf and the resists made the smite cleric a bad choice..
i still remember the groups with 3-4 clerics .. they was uber..
the balanced cleric spec was rather good ... (guys like krondor and celt comes back in memory)
and i hope the coming patch with some smite love will bring that kind of groups back..
