With my Sorcerer i plan to be good in rvr so i'm going for 44 mind (To get best AoE Mez ) and then the rest in body or matter, i was wondering which is better and suitable for rvr body or matter? Both have AoE Dex/Qui debuff but body has a normal DD an area root while matter has an better dot and a DD snare, i would say matter for the dd snare and dot, what do u think?

Firstly, 2 good RvR specs. If you want to hog RPs you gotto solo, and 34mind/41body or 45body and rest mind. Matter is useless atm, debuffs are rather useless. When they change debuffs to instants and matter DD+snare gets fixed mebbe its viable specline.

About the charm spell, how does that work, can you charm creatures of same level and below only, and does the increasing spell level increase the chance of charming it only, or is there another puropse to it?

you can only charm upto the same level as you (yellows), but the spell level also has a limit on the levels, something like the first spell does 1-10, 2nd does 10-26, 3rd 24-40, 4th 40-50 (very very rough there may be even 5 spells ) but the one at 32 means you can charm everything upto level50 when you get to level50.

Also the first charm spell only does humanoid, second does humanoid and animal, third does humanoid,animal and insect, 4th humanoid animal insect magical.

I think having a higher mind spec decreases the chance of failing to charm a target. Sometimes when you fail to charm a target they aggro on you so thats not a good thing

With 34mind, you fail like, 1 outta 20 charms. with 44mind I seem to fail never.

I am poised at 34 mind 30 body and was about to go down the 41 body route, but you have just convinced me that 44 mind 31 body will be more useful for RvR.

Btw, what's the resist rate on your AE root , just so I know whether to rely on it prior to mezz or not?

It would seem that 34 mind / 41 body is the _usual_ spec, across the board (especially in the US).

Ever read the casters realm boards? Where our often villified team leader hangs out? CR Sorc boards There is, it seems, a lot of reason to do this spec, mainly due to purge coming.

But it would also seem that sorcs are going to become patched out of the game (if the boards are to be believed). AE insta ranged mez is coming for bards/healers (minstrels too I think).

Since thse changes are coming I have read of a lot of sorcs that are either quitting or respeccing to 24 mind (I think it is 24). Although the septics (septic tank = yank), are the worlds greatest whiners, there are some valid points in there somewhere.

Anyone notice the spec DD change from spirit to energy in the last patch? Our spec DD's are very useful in RvR at the moment, but apparently they will change to body in 1.51 (whenever we get it).

Perhaps I should stop reading those boards, in fact DON'T read those boards, you will get depressed

I'm not really sure what I'm trying to say here, apart from us sorcs seem to be getting a raw deal when it comes to CC/survivability, compared to other realms CC classes.

Anyway I still love playing this char!

If we ever get respec, im goin for 45body with Layl. Or not play her at all. Mezzing is nerfed so much its rather useless to have a high spec in it. Off ya go gimps.

Right, that's it, I'm sticking at 34 mind 30 body until I see what's coming up for sorcs.

I'll save my points and hedge my bets and with a bit of luck, I'll spend them in the right direction when the time comes.

At least it will save running to the trainer every half ding.

tri-spec

I think the tri-spec is looking quite interesting for my alt (34 mind, 36 body, 21 matter)... with stacking DoTs and a 30% matter debuff, matter might get quite cute.

(Oh, and the upcoming minstrel AE mez isn't so much insta as 5s casting time, which apparently can't be reduced by high dex ... Wish they'd take it away and give us something useful like a wake-up shout to pull allies out of mez.)
