This is in part a whine but I'd rather it be a discussion point.

I am a caster granted so am easily dropped I always knew this.

But other realms see my lovely name above my head that gives away my class and race. And therefore they go for me first over any other caster type, in any manner. The most popular method seems to be a single SB or NS going for me asap.

I was wondering if it would be at all possible to try a new tactic. 1 tank or of sorts to hang back with the casters who try to center around the tank. So if an ns or sb pops up boom slam.

Now I have never had a problem in any guild group and in fact I have witnessed 2fg of albs destroying 4fg of mids. With the clerics who play damn well and a couple of people hanging around me.

A few times sure Im bound to be hacked to pieces thats nps.... but all the casual rvr groups I have been in seem to run off like wild rabid dogs after anything remotely hibbie or middie and leave any caster not just me to cope alone and then they moan and laugh about casters being useless.

Think Im gonna role another char on excal for times like these. I tried so hard to stick to my main level 50 but it seems only guild groups actually care about you're general safety and well being.

I agree, a slam bot rocks to have

anyway, after your mezz are off, your part of the battle are more or less done..

only advice I can give you, move around alot, if you get tank agro run toward a tank... most of the times qc -> mezz/root will get you killed, unless you got players that knows your way of playing around you ( they'll "save" you and break mezz/root ).
key to success "move" ( that applys to all casters, not really a class specific issue )

Done this as long as I can remember. It's hard tho, you intercept SBs first blow, it hurts, you slam, SB cant move, you hit him, caster mess, you are a n00b mess breaker because caster just missed his opportunity to nuke as much he can for 9secs. Well, SBs cant take much hits so I can handle them by myself

Yes sagba, I remember when I were in a random group with you in it, me and my brother were both stunned when you intercepted and guarded me, and stayed at me at all cost.

Often enough die to my own mistakes, I admit, but unless I am in a group that actively tries to protect me instead to run off I am pretty certain to die first and without a chance ... - which really sux after a while

I actually tend to be positively amazed by my own damage impact if my group actually manages to keep me alive for a while .... So many thanks to those that have actually done this ....

On the downside: had individual tanks try to defend me to the last, too, (thanks a lot, Calif/Armado etc. ) but tbh, very often they find that, alone, they can't keep the enemy off me long enough - with 1-3 hits I normally smell the grass (even with pbt), unless cleric is on insta heal and I am not swamped by every enemy tank in sight . So I would argue that 1 tank to protect casters might really only work against assassins attack, not that much for group fights, but then, I am girl, maybe I just need a lot of protection, anyway

if you have capped slash you should be able to tank a SB PA okay and maybe CD long enough for a tank to help you anyway (on excal road i had a SB PA chain me...after that i mezzed him and nuked to death...love newbie SB's

OMFG eso, i was with you this morning with my wizzy, FFS what u are saying is true, but in this mornings case 1 pally cant slam 2 - 3 sbs that are on you! From the moment they targetted you, u were dead, nothing could of helped you. So please stop whining like a child and play the damn game.

I usually hang around by the casters with my minnie stunning any tanks/assassins having a go at our mages/clerics. There is always some tank who runs over trying to be a hero after I've stunned and mezzed the guy who is now not a threat at all. All they do is condemn the mage/cleric (and often me) to certain death at the hands of the now unstunnable unmezzable ratboy. Sometimes people can be a little over zealous with protecting casters really At least use effects on if you want to do this job. You have no excuse now minstrel mezzes have a proper animation on the target.. It's happened far too many times to be funny where I've mezzed an enemy infront of me when on 5% health or so, only for some rp hungry whore come and break the mezz without letting me get any distance away

NP I think youre terrible, you're not good and you're not clever and you're not skilled. In fact you get owned quite alot by organised guilds but for us casual rvr's you're a real pain, ruining what should be a bit of fun and a few beers.
