Sorcerers and pets question.

I've been playing a sorc lately.

I have been told that you can only get a blue con pet.

But when my domination spell list hit lvl 7, I got a new spell "Compel will".

I tried it on a yellow con mob, and to my surprise it worked.


Question:
What is the upper limit on the "con" to get a pet?
Is yellow the max? or is it based on chance and I got lucky and maybe it'd work on an orange?

If I fail, will it aggro?

for sorcerers, with high mind spec - same level (it's fairly high mind spec going up levels - 32 is the last spell though, and that lets you charm yellows up to 50)

you can't charm anything above your level, or above the level of th spell.

They occasionally resist, and sometimes resist+aggro.

I have never had a mob resist charm (with full mind spec to level 34) except when I accidentally used a low charm spell after mythic kindly shuffled my quickbars in the patch.

You can however only charm yellow mobs but at least you can be certain they won't turn on you unlike the poor minstrel

my sorc was split mind/body so probably why I got the occsaional resist/angry result (doesn't break when you've charmed it though)

Charm:
Compels creature to fight and die for the caster. The level of the creature charmed is up to 100% of the caster's level. Depending on the level of the spell, only certain types of creatures may be charmed.

I definately seem to remember a sorc with an orange bloodletter


Or it was a mincer, its just that mincers _NEVER_ charm, so i prolly assumed it was a sorc

Probably a mincer, sorcs really can't do it

Or you are lvl 49, in which case it's possible for a sorc to charm an orange-con pet from your point-of-view

I thought blood letters were level 50 mobs only. I don't think I have seen one below 50.

...unless I am thinking of those giant badgers.

Emain is pretty fucked up when you think about it.
