Sony Vegas Help!!

hi,
im trying to make a video in sony vegas with clips sent to me by other people, these clips use Xvid Codec..but wen i try to import them into vegas i get an error that stream cannot be determined! is there an easy solution? i tried google but it gave me something about converting to MPeg-2, which i dont understand i have both VD and vegas, i also get this error wen using clips with DivX codec..?

get hold of the IMTOO converter or use tmpg/flask both are point to input file and out put file and it will change it to a file that vagas can use
