Before anyone jumps the wagon and starts QQ for whatever reason i have to point out 2 things.
Not including CB was totally my choice as i dont consider it anymore just of importance in a bard template
and last but not least
I got all the items ( so no qq of the type : gl getting the items and stuff )

Comments and Improvements really welcome - still working on it.

I know whats missing tjalle but if u went through the tempie u could notice a few things that U WONT find in any template with the arties u mentioned.

Power Pool, hits, medium-high AF, and 90% of resists cap.

If u take all those things out to get croc,cb,jas u gain nothing better.

And im explaining in case u dont get it:

The reason we get JS in most bard tempies apart from the toa stats is Arcane Siphon. Basically saves you few power ( randomly ) when u cast spells. The high power pool applies here: In order to make up for those 'free power' spells i got higher power pool and unlikely Arcane Siphon which is based % on this template is standard.

Medium - High AF and high hits = goes for croc ability. 5% dmg absorption = less dmg = high af = less dmg . Also a good bonus to have against bolts and such. ( U get the idea i guess )

CB was totally personal and i can understand that different opinions can exist.

Hope this makes it clearer for you buddy.

Its a nice template but I don't really like it.

You claim the strong points are extra power pool and AF. You have + 40% power pool but no Jacina. Thats the same as having +27% power pool with Jacina, hardly special. Also with the increased recharge rates power isn't really a huge deal.

The AF isn't terribly high either. You can normally get +15-20 AF without trying and you have 36. That 20 difference in AF is about the same as a 2% reduction in damage. The conversion ability on Croc tears Ring is effectively a 3% reduction in damage. Also, you are a bard, isn't the AE affect useful? You can't just do 8v8 rvr only?

Hits aren't terribly high either, you gain more now from overcapping con (with cl10).

Also that mythrian won't work for a while.

It was when ToA released but not anymore and certainly not a reason enough to put in a high end template. Only reason for croc ring is the reduction % bonus.

I wish it was but its not. Bards primary and secondary stats as far as im concerned is Empathy ( yes i know old bug ) and dex. Con comes third. So in this case the over cap in con offers really few hits as plus. Besides that though even if con was actually decent or even if it wasnt im sure u consider that overcaping ( 101 ) 2 stats instead of 1 and especially in a bard template which is uber tough cookie is nearly impossible to manage if u want to get all the rest too.

Also that mythrian won't work for a while.

:O Please give info. Just renewed few days ago my subs and im not 100% sure about those new items. What u mean wont work for a while?

I kinda liked the Template. Resists and hits are the most interessing part. The pp is ok, but nothing extraordinaire.

For CB i feel like you, nice charge but crappy item. As for croc ring i'm still considering it for my template, it's ok utility ring and got the damage % reduction that can always be usefull, and if you look at your template the only thing you loose switching croc and the DR ring is 12 AF and 40hp, compensated with the damage absorption.

I'm gonna run with EP instead of jacinas, better utility and the charge on EP is equivalent to syphon on jacinas overall, imho.

I shall try and keep this as simple as possible:

The Jacina's sash ability gives you a 10% chance to not use any power when casting a spell. So lets take an example. Assume you have 2 characters that are identical in every way except one has JS and the other doesn't. Now as an example and ignoring power regen for now, say they have a power pool which is large enough to cast 100 spells.
On both chars if you now spam cast those 100 spells the first guy will have run out of power. The second guy (with JS) should have got 10 free casts while he was spamming those 100 spells so has enough power to cast 10 more spells. You might think this effectively gives him 10% more power pool but this isn't quite right because when he casts those 10 more spells he is likely to get 1 more free cast and there is a 10% chance that that 1 more spell he casts will also be powerless. What this means is that somebody with Jacina sash has an 11.11111...% larger powerpool which is infact an increase of 1/9. This is of course just on AVERAGE sometimes JS will proc less or more.

So now back to your template. You have a base powerpool that depends just on the amount of acuity you have, lets call it X. This is then increased by your +power pool bonus. This is then further increased by 1/9 if you have Jacina's sash.

So currently you have, effective power pool = X *(1+0.4)
Somebody with the same amount of acuity and Jacina's sash will need X * ( 1+Y) * (1 + 1/9) to get the same size effective power pool as you, where Y is his power pool bonus.

so setting them equal to each other gives: X * (1 + 0.4) = X * (1 + Y) * ( 1 + 1/9)
You can now cancel the X (because both chars have the same acuity) and re-arrange. This gives Y = 0.26 so someone with JS only needs 26% power pool bonus to have the same effective power pool as you, assuming you both have the same acuity.

Does this make some sense?

I am not saying that you need to get 101 con but at CL10 you get a 20% bonus to the hit points your con stat gives. All this means is that its NORMALLY cheaper to get +con and con cap than +hit and hitcaps. Obviously it depends on the items you want to use. I think you will find that alot of templates nowadays will give a similar amount of hit points.

Alot of mythrians are broken. The stat+stat cap ones for example don't take you over the 101 cap currently. Its also still broken in the US... Here is the Grab bag link explaining some stuff:

However to summarize, get yourself a average/greater Power Regen Mythrian. With the increased power regen rates from 1.87 (see first link) you will rarely if ever go out of power. It also means that getting things like +40% power pool or Jacina sash might not be that important! ;)

I also carry on me a safe fall mythrian, even the lesser ones HALF all fall damage and can be instantly equiped whenever you need to jump of a bridge. The greater one reduces fall damage by 80%. I also carry a bonus encumberance mythrian just incase.....

@Cadelin: The question is do you really need jacinas on a bard?

I'm new to that class and i know that for a main healers/casters jacinas is close to a "much to have" item on any template but can't see the bard have a such bigger power usage than a caster or a druid/cleric/healer. It's why i decided to skip it from template. If you say to me that they are close in power usage as druids/healers/clerics/casters, i may rethink my position.

i disagree. the croc ring and cb are a total waste on a bard. tbh most ppl who play a bard know that timers are very important, and overkill on artis can cause problems. however im not having a go at you frank, just my pov ;)

anyways the template is nice mck. i would think tho that you will miss sash in a template, also i think cs is maybe a waste in a template however i have made a tempalte with EP and i think that its looking promising. i havent tried a tempalte with the new items yet but i will do at some future point. ill post meh template with ep that i work with atm. i can justify not having cb as i have purge 3, croc ring sucks and i dont like gsv cause i did it on my ns and it took me about 12hrs to get faction, so never again ;)

GSV requires only 1 run one afaik ( ie complete faction quest once and ur done) CTR is by far the highest utility item in the game and not using it when you can is VERY hard to justify.

Guess this is where some peeps says it only has a dvelve utility of 50 but if you add the passive it goes well over 100.

Only my 2 cents:)

I don't play a bard, I have tried to avoid saying what you should and shouldn't use because I don't know.

However, I DID point out that having Jacina's does increase your effective power pool alot and that I wouldn't really say the original template was "high power pool".

Interestingly in 1.88 they are changing archers, and the arrow recovery mythrian is being changed to an arcane siphon one. Initially they kept the same percentages so it was possible to get a 70% arcane siphon mythrian!!! This however was hot fixed and I am yet to find out what the percentages were changed too. These could turn out to be almost as good as the power regen mythrians depending on the new percentages....

i dont like gsv cause i did it on my ns and it took me about 12hrs to get faction, so never again ;)

they have remade faction quests, u will get faction after doing the bastet faction quest just once...

U might say that scorpion ring sux hard or whatever but somehow fitted really well in my attemps so couldnt replace it really. Only downfall is that i lost 40 hits ( hopefully shouldnt be very noticable ) Still working on it! Give feedback!! GO GO GO

CTR is by far the highest utility item in the game and not using it when you can is VERY hard to justify.

Guess this is where some peeps says it only has a dvelve utility of 50 but if you add the passive it goes well over 100.

i liked the second one. good stats all around. i think emp is about right at 80, dont really need much higher as u have sash and 36% pp. maybe lacking some hits but its still a good template. dont worry about spell duration either, most of the time mezz is broken by leechers or peeps who spam root, hi douglas! ;)

I know prod.. Hits was the only concern for me on the second one but wth it cant be that much of a problem if u got decent druid in the group ( hello Ms no buffs.com Dierna )

The best bit is that i got rid off cloudsong FINALLY and FW looks much cooler ;ppp
