how can this crash server ?

because GoA r too tight fisted to give the busiest RvR server in the world its own hardware and instead run 2(+) servers on one machine?

this simply cant be rigth .. down again ... 100 mids and some 80 albs ? ....

soon it will crash at fg vs fg .... only solo is allowed

these crashes are only recent - we've had bigger fights with no problems.

Hopefully the whole of GOA's headquarters. Maybe Osama bin Laden plays on excal and is a bit pissed off with the Cheese Eating Surrender Monkeys (©Groundskeeper Willy)

They probably pulled the plug on purpose now to give the impression that something alse was the problem and not that the server couldn't handle the load of people.

it is the fix we got for ToA which messes up the server most likely. The server hardware upgrade is ok, it has hold up on large numbers earlier and only recent (after the fix(or whatever it is called) for ToA) we are having problems.
The server upgrade happened in july(?) and only now we are experiencing stability problems of the server? Seems more logical to conclude that the ToA fix is at fault here.

So its still GOA's fault most likely (could be that mythic gave a bugged software upgrade to GOA), but it isnt the hardware upgrade which is to blame.

So why is it only happening to our server (and the test server?). Begs the question - is the test server and excalibur running on the same box (or cluster) and is it the test server crashing which is bringing down excalibur?

10 dollah its the ToA fix they patched some time ago. Lag have been poop since that patch/fix serverside and somehoe even thegfx lag went pooop

then the faults with mythic not goa, for a dodgy patch.

tbh with the ammount of people playing on the same server the only other game released at the time that came close was anarchy online (and the game was shite, aswell as the laaaag), in general the servers held pretty well. So toa is prolly causing problems
Alternatively they were patching the test server and it went down, bringing excal down with it.

Well we can speculate all we want but unless we are behind this server to check ourselves or hear from GOA (which is unlikely) what the problems are it really has no use.

There are lots of posssibilities on what could be the problem and i'm sure GOA is trying to figure out what it is. They really don't want people to run away from the game due to bugged servers.

Yea who knows what the problem is, it must have been a terrible coincidence that it crushed during a RR...twice.

And it surely must have been a coincidence that Exc was "fixed" on Monday morning when is crushed on Saturday afternoon and not because no one was at work.

Trully as days go by and the frustration and anger starts going away, all GoA fanboys have started coming like snails out to defend the lazy, incompetent, lying people behind this joke for a company.

Don't worry DAoC is safe as long as there isn't a good alternative game out there, when the other games start popping out though DAoC europe is going to die unless a real company decides to host it.

Hi all

I thought that the resent crashes was because the servers simply have trubble handling the kind of load that we have put on excal the last cupple of nights.

But then I noticed this message on the prydwen news.

Aparently the server didnt have any trubble hanling 800+ in alb zones, so there is a fair change that they will find the bug that is gettting the server down, and we can once again go zerg those mids down :)
