somethin up with the subs?

about a month ago i canceled the subs on both mine and my mates accounts, i had left the accounts to run dry and just the other day have got a bill on my card for 3 months daoc (£22). i have checked the account and it is still set to no auto renew etc. - has this happened to anyone else? and if so - eeer what the feck?

tried rightnever about this, but then again i have tried them about countless other things in the past and never got an answer so thought i would see if anyone else here can shed some light on the subject.

You have to contact your bank and tell them that they have billed you unauthorized. And they will help you to sort it. This kind of behavior from a company is totally unforgivable tbh :kissit:

Just pay by credit card in any future online games(ing), if they take the money can easily stop it with credit card. With debit cards its not so easy, because its not actually a standing order so to speak, they have your card details and just re-call the info once a month as opposed to an agreed date/sum of money.

If its not too much hassle, just say u lost ur card and get a new one, the start and expiry dates will be different to teh ones GOA have in there database. Problem solved.


GL getting ur £22 back, i doubt the bank will be very simpathetic, the same old lecture comes to mind about responsibilty with details yadda yadda. But in reality it just shows how lax GOA are

Tell your bank to do a Charge back as you did not auth them to use your card.

my bank has a feature attached to the accounts that allow me to create a virtual card to use for onetimepayments. Works excellent for me month after month now and I can really recommend people to check for similar services with your banks if you are worried about GOA renewing subs without your permission. GL gettin money from a card that doesnt exist anymore. Its abit of hassle since I need to renew every month but its safe and thats what matters more imo.

Isnt it a bit illegal to re-activate your account, turn on auto re-new when you set it to off etc, without your permission? Effectively stealing the way i see it.

Föreningssparbanken have it in sweden, service is called E-kort (E-card) and I'd guess more banks can offer similar services.

Visa Electron is a static card, E-card creates a new cardnr and expirationdate is 1month generally and is only valid for one payment. Can set it to work differently but the standard is that I mentioned. Uberpaymentmethod for the net overall, make payment, card is invalid after that = can never get scammed and my cardnumber cannot be abused by anyone either since I never give out my real CCdetails.
