Hey all
I have been building my m8 a pc
In it i fitted a Pace Banshee card. (he dont play games much, only now and then, and this card wuz v. cheap), and this heats like a bastard. It is obviously mounted next to the celeron 366 chip, which is chucking out enough heat without the banshee's help. The only fan is on the CPU, and the system temp hits just about 50 degrees C - OMG! I mounted a fan pointing at the banshee and now getting a stable 33 degrees - should banshees be this hot?

oh, and my Rage 128 gets a tad hot too (as in finger burning hot) my P3 is right above it and that gets hot as hell too (as there's no fan) i don't seem to ever have any problems though.

well i know its odd but i, an american will be of some help. If you have the processer overclocked you have to underclock the video card. The voltage flowing through will melt it. If no over clocking get a p2 fan. Celeron fans are crap. Ruberband a p2 fan to it and youll be fine.

BTW mookie.
Banshees also do those resolutions.
up to 1900x1600 actually with the latest firmware+drivers.

They are extremely good fer the price.
doing all those resolutions and with a z-buffer too, on all of them.

getting 40fps in 1600x1200 q2, i think.. is incredible, the banshee really does kick ass.

Whassa matter mookie ? cant to 1600x1200 ? monitor too small ? proccessor too pants ?.

american scum.... typical american. doesnt to anything properly.

thought of the rubber band decaying and breaking after abt 2 months ?

Yup my Banshee runs dead hot too, but it's not next to the processor and I've never had any problems with it.

Are you actually getting problems or are you just curious as to whether it's okay?

Which type of Banshee is it, because they run at slightly different clock speeds I think (some manufacturers o/c them a bit).
