solution time

In light of recent events, on which a lot has been said there does seem that the following should be considered.

All squad members to be declared and published on the uktl site at least 5 days before they can play. (ie wednesday to play following week). Notification of new members to admins must be by the tribe/clan leader only, and are only valid when published to the site. Uktl site updaters to update this section once on wednesdays at 18:00 (or wahatever time). Any notification not recieved by this time will be held over till following week.

Any transfer from one clan to another will take 2 weeks, with notification required from Tribe leader and transferee

I think these would be fair changes.

I think these are some good ideas but that the time scale could be lowered a bit. Two weeks is a long time to go without being allowed to play with your tribe. I think the basic idea is good though.

I'm sure we can develop a proper 'transfers' page on TribesNation for both UKTL and WPTL transfers...

I'll throw something up this evening...

That is of course, after checking with Poker that it is valid, and he is happy with it

You may have not noticed, but i said an Official UKTL page - not a private site which imho would be unacceptable.

Thanks for the gesture though.

Well, it was simply going to be to see who had gone where and when - more just for interest than anything else...

If Poker wants to add extra rules for the UKTL (which in my opinion aren't really necessary) then thats up to him... I just feel a lot of similar problems could be avoided by an up to date page of UK tribes transfers...

- I'm not really sure that Poker should spend several hours a week trawling through a list of over 200 players...

- The problem this idea has arisen from would still have occured under the proposed system...

Yes I would like to see something done to stop something like this Stamper insident from happening again.

If TD knew Stamper had joined EM we wouldn’t have asked him. Stamper claims he only trailed for EM and didn’t join But EM claim he did join, the whole thing was one bloody mess.

Exactly who will operate this register then??? And how will it be enforced???

Whats to stop me playing as [TD]Velvet today, and [EM2]Tevlev tomorrow???

the fact is their is no way of knowing except by real names, proper email addresses + birth certs, blood samples(assuming one is human), DNA and maybe dental records to boot.

What is to say you are not also this "jade" ? or pikachoo even ? There is no proof readily available... none.

Your witness Poker....

Suds:

In what way is this forum official for the UKTL proposal you have made and the UKTL forum unofficial?

Apart from the extra hours of administration which would be needed to maintain an up to date list, a list which all the admins would need to be very aware of before reffing a match, there are still too many loop-holes for it to be possible to enforce such an idea...

The only effective suggestion is that all Tribes League matches are played at a LAN round Poker's house... Players would be fingerprinted as they turn up, a team of admins would tear apart the participant's PCs and tribes/config directories looking for anything which could be deemed 'against the rules'...

As the match started each player would be watched by two admins (a spare in case one had to blink)... All contestants would have to submit a urine sample at the end of the match before the result could be declared valid...

/me thinks this is not why people play Tribes...

My work nickname is mr vague, i apologise.

I feel that the "database" / player register must nbe official (on uktl site etc) and not an unoffical one on tribesnations or similar.

Sorry, i tried to deal with more than one issue without being specific, /me takes note.

My suggestion for having it on TribesNation is that it can contain information from both the UKTL, the WPTL (and perhaps even the ETL)...

If you take two of the transfers of the last few days:

Stamper - formerly played in BoS, a solely WPTL tribe... He is in fact still on their members page... He has now joined TD who enter both the UKTL and the WPTL...

OddBod - formerly played for DT who are in the UKTL and the WPTL... He has now joined BL who currently only play in the UKTL...

I'm being a bit selfish as if this got introduced for the UKTL chances are people would want me to do it for the WPTL too... It would save a lot of people, who already have enough to do, a lot of time if it was held centrally (and independently)...

Cheers

This would go no way to fulfilling your idea of an official UKTL player list though...

Yes, the TP site will have a complete directory of players and tribes, which will cross link to some extent for searching/nav purposes.
