Solo kills

In the "stats" window u can see how many solo kills u have.
But my question is, how are "solo kills" defined ? If a Hib wins
a fight versus a mid for example, then heal up, comes back
and an Alb kills him, is that a solo kill ? Or does it have to be
completely "clean" ie fresh from /release, not involved in any fighting
until he gets killed ?

i would have thought that the fact one of them died it would "reset" the reward if you see what i mean, though it probably down to time/damage
