SOLDIERS - HEROES OF WORLD WAR II - EXCLUSIVE LATEST NEWS

Prepare for all out action against your friends, your enemies and
anyone else that dares challenge you. The much anticipated and
greatly talked about Soldiers Multiplayer Combat Upgrade is finally
upon us.

Get ready to fight as the Germans, British, Americans or the Russians
in all manner of MP modes on any of the 12 brand new maps
specifically designed for MP combat.

The 5 brand new multiplayer combat modes include:

Deathmatch - Standard Deathmatch mode incorporating team combat or
all out survival 1 on 1.

Assault - Incorporating attacker/defender roles where one team must
hold an area, setting-up sniping points, mines, booby traps etc. The
opposing team must infiltrate and eliminate the opposition. Show no
mercy!

King of the Hill - Hold the hill, a vital resource, for longer than
the other team to win points. Possession is the key to winning!

Victory Points - Capture strategically placed flag zones before the
other team. Your side will automatically receive points once you have
done this, which contribute to a final winning total. However, the
zones can be retaken, so you need to weigh up the benefits of
defending a few zones or trying to take them all over, the downside
being that your forces will be spread out.

Escort - Incorporating attacker/defender roles. The defending team,
armed with infantry and vehicles, must attempt to get 'x' number of
trucks from one side of the map to the other. The attacking team,
which only has access to infantry units, are tasked with stopping the
defenders using a host of sneaky ambush tactics, snipers, mine lying,
and setting up machineguns at choke points etc. Very good fun!


We've also tweaked some of the single player and multiplayer actions
and added lots of enhancements to include:

>Improved inventory sorting
>Equip / search / pick up / use all while lying prone
>Units now have weapon specialisations (visible on HUD)
>New rocket launcher trail physics and balancing
>Server browsing support
>Various levels of game speed not just 'normal' and 'slow mo'
>Players can place marker points in multiplayer to aid communication,
i.e. calling in coordinates for artillery
>Brand new buy dialogue, command points and money system for
multiplayer
>Grenade throwing speed increase
>You can now melee attack units that are on the floor
>Bazooka infantry can run whilst bazooka equipped
>Mines will now go off from nearby explosions
>Mine detector works by just equipping, i.e you don't need to use the
'use' key any more
>Anti-aliased fonts in front-end
>Items in shallow water can now be retrieved
>Fog of war can now be enabled in single player
