Software pre-orders.

Quick question which could easily be asked of the company involved, but hey.

I pre-ordered HL2 about 3 years ago (at least that what it seems like) from play.com. Now when the game is actually released, do they just debit my card and send the game? Email me and let me know its available? Ignore the pre-order?

Anyone with any experience of pre-orders, please advise.

Log into play.com and check your order status. They don't charge you until it is in stock, and ready for dispatch.

I cancelled mine and ordered it via steam just so that I can play CS:S right now

I ordered mine via Game.net last year.

Theyve emailed me 3x so far to say the same thing about a release date. At the time of the pre-order it was £25, its now £30 online. The email they sent shows the order to be still £25.

I had mine on PreOrder for about 4 months or so from Play.com, i thought they took money out when you ordered the game but didnt notice any money being taken out of my bank.

Also cancelled it to order via Steam

And to SK, i believe they come up with the agreement that you pay the lowest price over highest one, which sounds fair indeed

Im a fan of box art otherwise I too would just order via Steam.

I ordered it from Game years ago, unfortunately my Credit Card expires before the game is released so I cancelled and bought it straight from Steam
