Right.. I'm at uni at Huddersfield and on the radio there is talk of an internet connection that uses radiowaves. 1Mbit/sec which would give me fantastic pings.. even when its slow :)

Basically.. I have been on a modem for nearly a year now. I know of maybe 2 or 3 people who are still on a modem that I've known through my UT life. I can still compete with them.... just but its a damn site harder playing an LPB on a modem - even at the best of times.

Currently I'm using RHA (Which is pants most of the time) and Netgames-UK, which is arguably worse for the lag spikes. I cannot afford to pay for Barrysworld connections or whatever for "nice" modem pings and there is no way I can get any sort of connection that plugs into a wall at uni.

This radiowave thing is the only way I can think of.

I reaalllyyy want to be able to prove myself. On 200 pings I can beat most people, but against the really good players I cant compete. I want equal territory so that I can show what sort of a player I really am.

I've spend too long on the modem and its got me down for a long time. I tend to disconnect from games about 70% of the time and my pings are lag spike-filled and 220 on F6 at best.

So I'm asking for some help. I want to get out of crap pings and into the low ping world. Dammit I deserve it for how long I've stuck by it.

I'd be very grateful if anyone could help me out on what to do and where to go.

Thanks.

Erm. As far as Im aware this will only be a 1 way connection. You'll still have to upload with modem. On the way back bandwidth isn't the main issue, latency is. Can't see this solution helping much there.

BTW - u drunk Gaz ? :)

radiowaves -> only works one way and high latency
so not very suitabble for playing imo.
but HEY i could be wrong :)
