So... what's the weather like in Midgard now-a-days?

You're probably thinking to yourself, 'What on Earth is an Albion doing asking that, eh?' (unless of course, you're a troll then you're thinking something along the lines of 'Duuuuuuuh.'

Anyway, the reason I'm asking such a question is I'm going to be taking a nice long relaxing holiday in Midgard (Prdywen) as soon as I can (ie. I get a second account.)

Now, please have this clear in your mind, this is not for spying or anything that is so annoyingly silly like that; just for some fun (sp? I couldn't find it in a dictionary -- not sure if it exsists) before my inevitable retirement.

Now the question is this (I am getting there) I kind of want to play either a Runemaster, a Skald or a Dwarf Berserker (because it would be so cute!) and I'm looking for any advice on where to go and what to do as either of those classes (maybe some pros and cons for laid back hunting), even any decent guilds (but not huge ones, where everyone will scare me) that might take me.

So, any advice would be most welcome. Two other things, where does Solid live, and should I bring a sweater? <grins>

those choises, zerk is slowest lvl.
dont forget zerk not yet have any pulling weapon.
lvl rune and piece of cake, some frustrating momnets offcourse but faster!
dunno skald?
next patch bers get throwing axes, need check how much they cost? because now lvl:ng hunter and everytime need buy arrows, crying!
crafting is not solution for this, spend over 600gc to get best arrows, and still need be close forge when crafting, naah, buy those arrows.

Personally I hate 2 accounts on different realms (note: NOT 2 on same realm) because the situation between albs and mids is tense already and there IS a reason why you can only play one realm on each server you know. People like you tend to get disliked when you arrive (got more albs with dual accounts on mid and can confirm that, lol) and who can blame them. Leave alb/Pry and join us fully instead ;p

come play zerk so i can come spam /point /laugh at you the entire tilme !


i think skald or runie will level fastest (especially at 30+) since they do add something to a group (speed/damage song - pbt) whereas zerk is only there for damage and letting a healer spend power on healing your ass.

good point, dont look very good this type realm sharing, why not go mid/excal?

If you're soloing (at least early on), Skalds are probably the quickest to level. 1-20 just fly past running around doing killtasks, especially if you base yourself in Huginfel from about 10 onwards. Having said that we do seem to have a LOT of Skalds now (both coming through the ranks and high level) - maybe because everyone with a Thane rerolled a Skald when they realised Thanes weren't all that great.

Runeys... a tough one. Runeys either seem to be very group friendly, or not group friendly at all. Some people say spec for PBT as soon as possible, it's the only way to get groups. Others say if you do that you'll be a gimp when you hit the 30s. As long as you can find some regular hunting partners a Runey should be fine, and will really come into its own.

Zerkers usually don't have a problem finding a group, although you are contractually obliged to call yourself something like Hamstero :)

Oh, and the weather is absolutely dire.

Well, from seeing my guildmates supp specced runie I'd say you won't gimp yourself by going that way :)

Firstly, I did almost delete my Albion characters, but frankly I'd miss people too much to do that. But the point is here, I don't really mind if people aren't going to like me much just because I have an Albion account. It's just going to be a nice retirement home, I reckon. And I know there's a reason why you can't play on the same realm, but, frankly, I'm not about to go around spying on both realms. <rolls his eyes> (In fact, I'm not even sure my loyalty would lie with Albion, so that's not a problem!)

Because I have very good friends that I play Hib/Excal with... and I don't fancy having a Runemaster on a German server, before you ask, that'd be far too confusing!

Anyway, I don't really have to make myself known to anyone that I'm an Albion, I can just be nice and peaceful, pretend to be knew (shouldn't be hard) and wiggle my way into a guild somehow if I feel like it.

Oh, and thanks for the advice! Oh, and one more question; the Suppression specced runemasters, do you get any direct damage spells in that line? <curious as to whether that'd be a nice spec for soloing as well as grouping>

You get a dd snare as suppresion and it rocks for killing. And suppression runies ain´t gimps. You get diminish sight and 6 sec pbt :)

I'm kinda on both sides on this one. I can understand why people would think "spy!!", but on the other hand I don't get why you can't play both sides without having to be accused of being a spy.

From my experience, I would strongly advise against doing it tho, unless you're just coming to waste time (and not have fun). As you can see from my sig, I tried what you're doing. It was great fun at the beginning, but later on, when you had the level to go RvR and attend raids etc, you start getting attitudes from people who still, even after you've been in the realm for months, think you might be spying. I had enough, and deleted my Albion chars, making my second account a Midgard twink account instead.

I miss a few people on Albion, but to be honest I didn't have that much fun after the first BG. That's when things began to change.

Valid points, there, but I don't think I'm going to be serious in either realm now, really, so it dosen't matter much. If anyone thinks I'm doing this to spy for Albion, they really don't know what they're talking about. ;)

At least it seems there's a few decent players out there who's not too narrow minded to welcome players from an opposing realm to their own.

Your post made me all warm, Tindel. Glad i'm not the only one who don't have a problem with it.

This whole issue of spying and double realming on the same server has been giving me a headache for a while :( To be honest I would love to have a holiday home in Hibernia, a nice little cottage just outside Tir na mBeo where I could go and frolic in the lush greenery, raise a little Warden and a Mentalist or a Hero but the thought of people thinking... "Spy" at the back of their minds (in both Hibernia and Midgard) has stopped me so far.

Keeping ones identity a secret has possibilities but personally I would feel like I was being dishonest if I did that and if one were to get "found out" those thoughts of ..."Spy" would become loud shouts I think.

Play Hib Excal? Well its Hib but its Excal innit! Nuff said really :)
