So the Yanks are getting 1.11c today and we're getting 1.11b?

we're always a day behind. Which in all honesty isn't too bad, we'll probably get 1.1c tomorrow.

Unless ofc your post is tongue in cheek ;)

heh,

Seriously though, why send out two patches on two different days? b & c can't be installed in one cycle?

Seems like pointless unefficiant downtime to me.

1.1c is a new patch and it might introduce new problems that 1.1b doesn't.

Imo it's good that US beta tests first.

We might get the latest patch on US servers but trust me there's a lot of extra downtime that goes with it. Plenty of emergency fixes are applied on the same day and the following days.

There's advantages to being behind in patching :)

daoc started 3 months after the yanks and while it varied a bit it was usually about 3 months behind.

And it's been said it wasn't GOAs fault - it was Mythic having an american encoded version and a separate international unicode version.

There are valid things to complain about GOA for but their patching times for WAR ain't one of them.

There's indeed been quite frequent patching lately and some frustration over this is understandable. However, we're not expecting this quick pace to continue for long; this is more to be seen as a 'Christmas patch crunch' and patching will return to its previous soon enough.

There reasoning behind this frequent patching is light-heartedly discussed in the latest Dev Diary by Bruce Mclean, Mythic's Development Director.

For the record; many people at GOA (and obviously Mythic) are pulling extra hours and taking time from their holiday preparations in order to ensure that these patches are brought about in a timely fashion to European players over weekends and we'll continue doing so for as long as it's needed.
