well Thaï whores are used to alot of things, but thats the first time they got hit by a Tsunami.

In countries like that close to a continental plate border should teach kids in school how to recognise a Tsunamie (fast pulling back of water etc). Should reduce the ammount of deaths in these situations.

That movie shows the second small wave, the actuall 15 meter high Tsunami is more devastating.

yah, I can imagine being tought about stuff like that would help, I mean it's gonna help alot when there's a 300 mille an hour 18 foot wave coming at you.

Yes, that's right. Children drowned because they hadn't been taught how to survive.

I just watched "Back To The Future" and it has inspired me to go back in time and teach Americans how to not die from jumping out of a 100th floor window.

I wonder if there are any foreigners who AREN'T dead now?

All the "run for the hills" crap...take a look at the layout..there are no hills...the wave covered everything it could. How on earth can you outrun a 300mph wave bearing down on you...even if there was hills...you would have no chance at all. I really think if it was me all i could have done was stood there watching it incoming. Just gotta feel sorry for whats left.

thing is when the waves is near the beach it isnt going 300 mph. If it was going 300 mph than it wouldnt be higher than 8 inches. Waves hitting the beach would still be going fast, but certainly not 300 mph probably more like 60 at most.

I could be wrong with what speeds waves could hit beach and further in. However the speed of the wave is related to depth of the water beneath it, it is 300 mph in deep water and I dont know how deep it has to be, but that is 300 meters or more. So when it reaches the beach it wont be travelling that fast.
Also the height of the wave is related to the speed/wavelength of it, so as I said if it is travelling that fast it wont be a high wave (which is why it isnt dangerous for ships far into sea/ocean).
