smuggler faction perks

First of all i wanna say i haven't started playing Galaxies yet /cry but i'm ready 2 retire as DAOC player so it's really just a matter of time before i get started.

Now as it is i'm wondering what class 2 pick etc. but i think i'm getting an idea now after long hours in front of charecter builders. BUT... i kinda got 1 question considering smugglers:

as master smuggler it says u can get faction perks at the reduced cost of 25% and i kinda wonder if that number stacks with humans -30% as imperial so u totally get a reduced faction perk cost at 55% 2 buy AT-ST etc (O MAMA!)

Sounds wild in my head so i wonder ?? help me out and i'll be greatfull - plz tell me if i got it all wrong since i havn't started gaming yet :)

Humans dont get cheaper imperial faction points, just every race but human has to pay more.

Kinda not talking about getting cheaper imperial faction points but what u can buy for em alias faction perks.

I'm pretty sure humans r getting there faction point cost on Imperial faction perks reduced by 30 % (got it from a freind - either his a retard or elz he is speaking the truth ;) )
obivious since imperials prefere human before aliens

exampel: human can buy an armour piece or stormtropper at the price of 1400 faction points normal price is 2000 and zabraks can buy it for 2500

So... the question was if those human race bonus as imperial getting faction perks will stack with the master smuggler reduced cost (-30% and -25%)

was kinda a confusing answer u gave me qoz u was talking about 2 different things in 1 sentence - way 2 go m8 :p

any ways tell me if i'm an idiot that just r babbelin qoz i never played the game - won't be long! .... i hope

Sorry, i meant humans dont get cheaper faction perks, not points :eek:

Humans pay for imperial perks at normal price, most other races pay 20% more, and i belive wookies and maybe another pay 30% more.

So your friend is a retard :)


edit : normal price = same price all races pay for rebel equipment.

well as i posted 2 m8 i played in front of some generators and came through 2 smugglers had some pretty cool benefits and thier durty trick line looks awesome :)!

Since u r a smuggler ur self i would like u 2 tell me what u think about the class ?? ;)

Though i don't understand why u picked rebels it seems they have some pretty boring faction perks...

and... btw thought about some different ways 2 spec and i came trough 2 master smuggler and master pistoleer dunno what 2 spec after that though seen u been doing the commando quess it kewl against AT-ST's with the rocket luancher but besides that i think u r wasting alot of points in the marksman line doing rifle and cabine. Maybe it's worth it dunno...

With the smuggler pistoleer spec u can be master in 3 hybrid classes btw... pretty awesome (smuggler pistoleer and kira what ever) dunno though if it's any good mixing some ranged stuff with a h2h spec so i doubt i'll spec that so i'll prob go for some medic or something like that.

evil long post but i got alot of questions and u r kinda the 1 i wanna speak 2 soo plz answer and help a soon 2 follow SWG player:p!

Underworld tree :
Kinda useless atm, Devs have said there going to redo it.. as for when well i wouldnt get your hopes up.

Slicing tree :
this works fine, can make good cash from it aswell if your prepared to stand in town all day promoting yourself.

Dirty fighting :
Feigndeath : works and is useful.
Panicshot : 100% broke atm, Devs know the problem yet havent fixed it, expect a fix in the next big patch.
Lowblow : only ranged knockdown for a pistol, kinda useful but since timers on knockdowns were introduced its not as good as it once was.
Lastditch : ok move, very good damage, has a stun effect, but has a monster deley on your next shot, so isnt always the best move you could be doing.

Spices tree :
Works fine and useful if you take the stuff yourself,as for selling it its not so great, spice dosnt have a very good market value atm.


Im smuggler/pistolier/commando atm, but thinking of dropping commando.

Whatever you do dont take Smuggler thinking its a combat class on its own, we get no skill modifiers or weapon bonus's. we are a hybrid with some fancy moves, Smugglers are suposed to be getting an overhaul sometime so maybe they make us a bit more viable without having to take pistolier or whatever as well.

One word of advice though, take novice medic - 15 points and you can use stim b's, goods ones will let you heal yourself for 200-400 health/action every 5 seconds, saved me more times than i care to think about.

great, thx for the long thread m8!

Some reason why i have a good eye on the smuggler is:

Dirty fighting - some few great combat abilities in that tree

Master smuggler - as i see it getting faction perks at a reduced cost is uber - but i wouldn't care at all 2 be smuggler if i didn't pick the imperial as the way 2 go. AT-ST faction price reduced with 25% is alot of points.

Think i'll put alot of effort letting my imperial pets do the durty work and hince i'll lose em when dead and cloned i'll prob put alot of effort doing medic as u say ur self.

just got a spontanius idea not speccing in pistoleer but maybe do some medic - doctor or combat medic afterwards but can i relie my imperial pets 2 do the durty work ?? are they that great or ?

You have to be overt to have them out, which itself in PvE is a pain unless your grped with a lot of other imperails, unless you like being killed while trying to fight mobs :)

with no real combat class or weapon modifiers you will have a hard time getting over 2 million pistol xp needed for master smuggler.

at-sts can be easyly defeated, CH's now carry pets with very high energy resist making them very hard for at-sts to kill, and a commando with a flamethower will kill your at-sts easy, not to mention you will have a hard time getting the faction points needed for a at-st in the first place, unless as i already said you are grouping mainly with other imperails.

On another note im expecting them to nerf at-sts, just a feeling i have :)

The devs are working on making faction pets PvP only... you wont be able to run around with 3 AT-STs to do your normal destroy missions soon.

Might want to rethink master smuggler if thats the only reason youre going for it...
