ZX81 mobo, 2 flashy lights for gfx and a couple of wires from the back of an old alarm clock.... runs most things pretty well, though I think may chuck some 2 more lights in for sli type effect gfx tbh.

It's not mine, but at the weekend built a PC for someone. It had Athlon 64 X2 processor, 2 GB matched Ram, SLi 7900 GTX Graphics, 200 Gb Hard Drive (system/data), 70 Gb RAID 0 Hard Drives (game files).

Tried it out in Camelot and other programs, no lag in the laggiest spots on top detail settings.

Then we noticed that you had to re-enable SLi each time you replace the graphics drivers (which we'd done), and that we'd seen those results with only one card enabled !

Its a shame you have to run nearly a grands worth of kit (~£500) to get decent frame rate out of a game though. Whatever happened to lodding, Pov systems and all the other shibang that helps the engine run quick? I blame lazy coders that think "ah i have oodles of space and resources to play with so i can write sloppy code"...tsk, bring back the old school coders, now they really know optimisation and are worth their weight in gold !

hey Cem! :) Yeah i went for alienware as they offered customisation of a basic system so i could mix and match exactly what i wanted in my lappy which hardly anyone else did.

most still do that, problem with daoc is that they dont have a self made engine

most of daocs problems come from the bought engine that has proven itself shit on many occasions like zergs, big raids etc

there just isnt a system that can do daoc engine at its worst

Just as an aside (on topic didnt last long lol) does anyone else feel like they miss something if they have no electrical appliances on next to them? or is it just me? I think 10 yrs in the industry has changed my biology ;/
