small dumb problem

just got a small annoying problem i hope you fine gents can help me with..

my cat sat on my keyboard :touch:

and now whenever i press shift while typing a sentence, the typing curser goes back to the start of the sentence.. highly annoying typing smileys, question marks and what not..

this only happens on daoc btw, and has happened to me before, just cant remember how i fixed it

ive been right thru the accessability options like a friend suggested, but theres nothing in there and all the boxes are unchecked

could someone tell me what my cat has done plz ?

Did your cat maybe sit on the NUM LOCK key? If it did, press the key again and the problem should be fixed.

Not sure which key it might be if it's not that one, so good luck!

Afaik its a bug in DAOC, ive experienced this several times of the years, though I did put it down to ash in my keyboard once. A reboot sorts it.

ive tried it a few times and i smashed the key board with my hands (im actually being serious) and it works, may take a few goes but works in the end!

It's because your 'home' key is stuck down. If you hold the shift key when typing a message, you can move the cursor backwards and forwards in the text with the left and right arrow keys. You can also jump the cursor to the start of the message with shift+home.
Turn your keyboard upside down and firmly tap the back of it in the approximate area of the 'home' key to free it. If that doesn't work, lever the key off and give it a good clean.
