SM spec

Close to the point where I need to choice between the below 2 specs

49 Sup/22 Dark/5 Sum
Missing the last single cast mezz but getting the low lvl AoE mezz
or
50 Sup/20 Dark/4 Sum
Getting the single cast mezz but loosing the AoE mezz

Out of interest since the last patch, spell lvl effects resists, so are their any SM out their that are sup spec 49 with the first AoE mezz in the Dark line. Do you fine that this mezz still works on 50s and how long does it seem to last for?

Depends on what you feel like doing. Single cast mezz is great, as long as your enemy doesn't have purge. In battle conditions why cast mezz? A high level Sup SM just needs to spam the PBaoe button until he goes down. To be honest with you, you will be a one trick pony. You'll get a name for yourself as being a Pber and you'll die instantly in RvR as enemy tanks will take you out on the first pass. Your best groups will be with Pac Healers who can stun an area or with other SM's who have better area mezzes. Keep defence you will rock until one of a multitude of Ground Target casters come in and nuke your arse from range until you either die or retreat.

So... after ranting all that I'll get to your question

Forget about area mezz... if you don't have a high darkness it isn't worth it. You'll get a lot of resists and it won't last long. Single target mezz is good... but only as good as purge/resists/not being killed by a passsing tank allows.

Since the wonderful decision by Mythic to allow people to get uber resists you'll find all spells are considerably worse off.

My highest mezz is supposed to be 67 secs ( or something like that). With all resists et al in RvR I can safely say it lasts about 20-30 secs normally.. if it sticks.

i think my sm will be 49supp and 21 dark and like 8summ
dont know the correct but i think something like that anyway
my sm is 49 atm and been it tooo long in ecuador atm and been here since like 25feb but i thiiiiiiiiiiiink i am back around 19april and then its time to get him asap to 50 i used that 8summ cause some focus dmg shield new or something dont remember correctly

i Can tell you the AE mezz u get is WORTHLESS

However, the extra points on darkness helps the baseline nukes and i for one use them alot

I use my single mess all the time SM mess = spirit , Healer mess = body my aoe mess well can be used but its like 2 sec ZzZz still enough to maybe get some to use purge, lots of silly albs out there /slap.
