is it true that sm's get pbae next patch?? if so what is a good way of speccing to make goos use of this new ability?

Yep they do get Pbae.

Just go 50supp (for slightly longer mez) or 49, that will get you the best pbae and stick the rest into Darkness for a few good nukes.

 

[Roo Stercogburn]

Basically the most powerful pbae nuke in the game, but not the one with the hugest radius.

Hi Timbro,

You'll see, when the PBAOE lands on our SMs, we will be one of the most loved classes in the realm for power-xp sessions.

It's the most powerful DD spell in the game if played right, apparently. Should be quite fun, learning a whole new method of killing BAF mobs.

Go 50 summoning, with a 33 dps damage shield, you can kill wows when you're grouped with a healer.

Just to throw in some nerf enchanters content here ... enchanters get their pbaoe and 33 dps damage shield in the _same_ specline. Nerf!
