I got XP Pro, KT266A and GF3. Works fine so far.

The nVIdia drivers that come with XP suck tho. My Q3 timedemo went up from 70 to 180 after updating to the latest off nVidia webby.

I'be had nothing but problem with this computer,

When I first built it all the USB devices would shut off at any time, I later found out this was a random problem with the mobo (VP6) and Windows MultiProcessor drivers.

So I ended up buying a PCI USB Card

Then still having USB devices just drop off only being solved by being removed and refitted

Endless grahpical problems from lock ups to BSOD's

Now its this NV4_disp.dll has got stuck in an infinite loop BS

/me waits for the non VIA mobo of his P4

I get slow shutdown on mine aswell. And I don't have an nVIDIA card. So maybe its just XP takes ages to turn off.

I couldn't log on as administrator though. I checked and I'd given myself those privaleges on installation and it worked fine.

I've got the latest detonator drivers and all is well in my virtual world.

There's no way I'm going back to Win98 just because it scores a few points higher in a few benchmarks. To be honest, I'm surprised the scores are that close, given all the extras WinXP has. What actual difference do these scores show? Are games going to noticeably look and performe better?

I don't use XP because it scores higher in some benchtest, I use it for stability, reliability, for the bells and whistles and frankly because it's a much more pleasant operating system to use.

My 2€.
