Curious... is there a way to "Slipstream" your Counterstrike disc? As in add new stuff like Halflife Mods to the disc or remove crappy ones?

Only com to my attention when i heard about Slipstreaming Operating Systems (ie XP) by automatically installing SP1...

Why would you want to do this when most mods are updated regularly?

Well more ease of use... if a Mod is updated, i'll update it when its available...

But i think it would save time more than anything, so you arent installing all the Mods one at a time.

So no one actually knows if this can be done? or *how* its done? :(

I doubt you can since the updates come as self-extracting setup files, it's not like Office/Windows.

I'm a bit bored so I'll give you the benefit of my meager experience with slipstreaming.

Slipstreaming is a feature of Win 2000, which speeds up service pack delivery for admins.

see http://www.microsoft.com/windows200...techinfo/reskit/en-us/prork/prbd_std_tgzp.asp

I doubt if Valve are that concerned with the time it takes to install CS so don't expect the next CS update to support Slipstreaming

However no reason why you couldn't script the original install followed by the latest update and add the script and all required files to the disk.

Would take just as long to install but save a few keystrokes ?

Probably take you longer to set it all up than reinstalling it 'as is' about 20 times though

Now I'm really bored
