Just bought Slingblade, which has been out a few years now. Stars Billy Bob Thornton. Think he wrote the script infact and directed the movie. Classic if you ask me. Thoughtful from start to finish. For anyone that ain't seen it it is about a man that is released from a mental hospital after serving 17 years for murdering his mother and lover. He is odd in his mannerisms and is regarded as being retarded though he doesn't come across as that to me in the film - certainly strange but not retarded. Nicely handled. I once worked in a mental hospital as a trainee psychiatric nurse believe it or not and saw some real odd people there for sure. No bloody way they should have been let out yet they went somewhere as the hospital eventually ended up being knocked down and a prison built in it's place. Makes you think.
