i dont think you can compare pissing your self to letting the tv control some part of your life.

Ok, if your watching a footie match at the stadium do you go for a pie after 20 mins because you decide the "optimal" time for you to eat is right this second. Or do you wait for half time because not eating for 25 mins isn't gonna kill you.
How is that different from waiting 20 mins to eat because that way you can watch your program while you do it?

No. Just a big bunch of politically correct do-gooders at the BBC have decided he might upset a few people by the words "wog" or "nig nog". In the 1970s its was perfectly acceptable. To be honest, there's much worse on TV these days. Alf Garnet's rudest word was "bloody".

but there is a difference between rude and offensive, the late 70's were littered with those kind of 'sit coms'.

You had shows like 'Love thy Neighbour' and 'Mind your Language' that were full of rasist references, but it seemed the norm and perfectly acceptable. And what about the stand up show called 'The Comediens' it was a platform for acts such as Bernard Manning and Mike Read to tell racist and sexist jokes on prime time TV, not a swear word in sight, but offensive........

Well at the time the powers that be obviously thought not.
