Skill points above 50

Couldn't really get this confirmed anywhere..

How does the extra skill points above 50 affect i.e. your wep skill, wep dam etc.? - i have heard ppl saying that the "value" is halfed and others saying that it doesnt affect anything at all.

When speccing an Assassin ppl intend to reach exactly 50 in i.e. Stealth becuz getting over 50 doesnt affect anything or?

Stealth and Envenom has no use above 50. All damage specs increase damage after 50 spec, but is hit by diminishing returns. Magic damage has no use above 50 spec except when hitting mobs that's above lvl 50 iirc.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that for weapon specs 64 is the highest total where any benefit is gained. E.g. 50+ 11 from items + 3 from rr. Above 50 its diminishing returns, above 64 there is no further benefit. Might be just a myth though :p

damage cap increases at every +1 skill point

what i have noticed tho is that the diminishing returns thing is quite true.

at 62 - 63 skill i gained more in dmg cap difference than 68-69



no idea how it's calculated tho as i checked previous dmg differences and it's as if the numbers decrease in some random order o_O

I have 65 in polearm, the extra +1 from going from 64-65 gave me exactly another +8 weaponskill only, havent really noticed much of a differance in damage though I recall someone somewhere quoting about 12 damage above 60ish per point but I could be well off there.

the way I see it you might as well give yourself the +11 cap from items and let your RR's do the rest as its not like theres any other way to improve it.

Easy, each extra point above 50 are worth less then points up to 50, but you still get bonus from it

Going from rr5 to rr6 increased my weaponskill by 8 points and it does slightly raise the damage cap.

For warriors, each spec point above 50 will increase wepskill with 11pts.

For magic you do about 0.5% per skill more then 50 in damage. Its not great but it does add up nicely (Wind 47, +11 skill, +4 RR = 62 - 50 = 6.0% bonus dam). Especialy when you start to get real abilities that only add 3% dammage and will cost a lot of rps...

When my RM was darkness I tested it and got a extra 2 points of damage per 1 skill over 50 quite crappy if you ask me :rolleyes:
