+Skill above level?

if i have, for example, 50 slash skill on a lvl 50 arms, is there any point in getting items with +slash skill. will it make any difference whatsoever to damage or chance to hit as it is over my level?

Yes

I think it will, but the effect will be tiny

It increases your weaponskill (so your chance to hit will be greater) and it will increase your damage a bit too. The effects wont be too great, I doubt you'll see any difference after 55+ (thats if you spot any difference from 50-55)

Same as above, you will do more damage, but you'll get deminishing returns.

i recently increased my slash from 61 to 64 and my weaponskill rised from 1279 to 1329 (unbuffed)

BIG difference i'd say

when hydrid (43 or so slash, before SC) it was something like 1000-ish and missed those pesky assasins a lot more.
