Skald weapon advice

I know this is probably one of those long debated topics that has been discussed ad nauseam elsewhere, but forgive my ignorance.

I have a lvl 35 troll skald and am currently axe spec. For a 2-hander which spec is better for a skald, axe sword or hammer? The other question is about how far to take the specialisation. Like most skalds I'm going to 46 battlesongs, but am unsure how high to take my weapon. Do I go to 44 and then get 17 in parry, or go the whole 50 and pretty much ignore parry. Obviously the answer to the 2nd question is very much dependant on the answer to the first.

Axe styles are better then sword styles, also crush damage is rather shite.

sword has a nice anytime chain, plus if you gonna spec 50 weapon, sword 50 style rocks in rvr


imo sword is best in rvr, axe aint got no good anytime styles, and anytime or back is what you want in rvr.

Tbh it comes down to personal taste on how you want your char to look, but dont go for crush because you get a bonus vs plate, Albs are gimps its the hibs you have to worry about
