Apart from a few expensive items most templates cost about the same to make these days. Go on a few ML10 raids or do the laby quests and you will quickly find you have cash. Getting ebon hide bracer may take more time than farming cash/scales to get arcane bracer.

This is the template I made for my skald about a year ago. Solid and the ToA items happened to be cheap at the time. (Designed for Troll)

The only thing i need on my template i posted above now is the crafted stuff and guild doing that today for me for free. I was told it was just a budget starter temp but they said better skald templates will cost me 100s of plats?

Something like Cadelin made with get you buy for Zerg action. Anything else then you obviously will have to go more expensive, but his would be nomore then 15plat id say including sc/armour.

If you are willing to farm then Loki's is also viable and the better template, just having a Zahur's Ring/ML10 hammer makes it a pain. Though I aint been in game for months now, so I'm assuming that the price on them is still high.

I found the template I posted better than just zerg action, but yes it can be improved upon depending upon what you are doing. I would check the CM for the cost of ring of the heavens and cyclone bracer, I remember when I built that template I picked those up for a few hundred gold each, if they are still at that price that template is very cheap.

If you are just starting out stick to your skald for the moment. Get him to ML9 and then every time you log in see if there is a ML10 raid going. It doesn't matter if you are in RoGs for PvE and even if you roll badly on the lotto you will still get 100 scales every time the BG kills draco. If you get lucky your money worries are over!

Start the Lotm quest, this gives loads of cl exp and very decent cash. Also do the dragon quests and get faction. Watch out for a raid to kill the Big 3 and go on that (but you will need faction first).

Explore Laby and if there is a PvE raid in there join that. You might also be able to find some PuGs in there that won't notice you are in RoGs (Tip: Dye your armour black, it makes you look pro!) There are also some mobs that drop myth or other good loot and are solo/duo able. I know a few spots where I can farm middle power myth, they sell for like 3-4 plat. There are also OTD and a few weapons that sell for several plat each.

I wouldn't bother with a BD for farming, youre better off getting your skald some MLs and doing raids / quests. There are lots of repeatable quests that pay off really well, boring as hell but good gold. Or just solo glass mobs in TOA.
