"The BBC's Andrew North says that the move means President Obama is "accepting political reality"
Pretty much that. Anyone who thinks they can go against the regular sh*t that goes on with running a country, shouldn't be running. At some point, you HAVE to make decisions that people won't like. The people should understand that too and not jump on some "I'm just a bush-clone" singing folkband wagon. Everything won't be happy go lucky jellypops people, sh*t will happen.
In obamas case, well, i think the bar has been set way too high because of the person anyway. Too much expectations due to certain aspects.
Funny though how everyone turns race-concious, yeah, it's not racist you see *cough* when talking about Obama.
But yeah Scouse, you're not exactly nostra-f*cking-damus here
It'd be nice if any of the expectation he had put on him would actually come true, instead the opposite has happened. Union busting, extending tax breaks to the rich, cutting things like public defenders and Planned Parenthood(helps women in need with healthcare amongst other things, and abortions) while letting the Pentagon get away almost scot-free, once again. His 'national' healthcare basically means that everyone HAS to buy an insurance, which instead of actually helping the people who needs it the most makes their situation even more unbearable, I mean there's a reason they didn't have insurance before.
This coupled with continued billion dollar support to Israel amongst other countries(like, Egypt and Libya) makes him a really fucking shit president. Let's not even begin talking about how he sat down with some 20 of the biggest companies CEO's in the US and talked about how they should be able to re-introduce the ~1billion dollars or so they've stashed in taxparadises, taxfree, to help 'revitalize' the economy and create new jobs - the last time they were allowed to do this, all the money was paid out in bonuses.
edit: Another thing to mention is the whole 'we'll be out of Iraq by 2010' thing, I know it was bullshit the first I heard it, the US has no interest in pulling out of Iraq - hell it's built a fortified embassy holding 3000 employees in Baghdad, but still it's a bit tragic that the people there replaced one dictator for pretty much another because lets face it, the US is utterly in control there.
Obama isn't busting the Unions. Scott Walker the Governor of Wisconsin is and Obama can't really do muhc about it now that his power was reduced in november. Also extending the tax cuts was supposed to be agood will move to the GOP to try to get some bi-paritsan work going here in Washingtin. unfortunaly the idiots that are the Tea-party have regular GOPers scared shitless to compramise.
