oo maybe i can get my answer here,

i bought lord of the rings: the battle for middle-earth the other day, but for some reason my dvdplayer can't read the dvd. it just makes a scratching noise and thats it,

so i copied all the files on the disc from my stepmoms pc to mine (her player works, but it doesnt fit in my pc) and installed it like that. the game works fine now using a nocd crack, but because of this crack i cant connect to online games because 'the version is different'

is there any way i can simulate the image of the dvd i have on my pc to be a dvd drive or is there any way i can make it work without having to buy a new dvdplayer? saves 30 euro! :p

thanks in advance

try getting a copy of daemon tools, might do the job for you.

havnt personally used it to simulate a DVD but worked fine for me to play sims 2 CD image without needing the disk (it's perma inside my other halfs machine..and damned if i buy 2 copies of all our games)

am a bit tired today so not sure but... some dvds only read DVD+ and some only DVD-

The scratching noise could well a piece of sandpaper scrapping against the laser, either that or a Wabbit looking for carrots. :)

ok , well burn disc to an *.iso image, loads of programs to do that around nero prolly most common, then load that iso into deamon tools as say drive e: install from there :p sit back and enjoy :)

Beware I used dameon tools one and it completly screwed my HD, it messed up the filing system so my drive thought it was 2 or something..merged the virtual drive with my hd and bam..I had to use manufactures tools to zero fill my drive to get it to work.

I'm using Daemon Tools extensively, which version did you run, remember?

Do like others said, but use alcohol 120% to mount the image, lots of people have encountered problems with daemon tools similar to what gammah had.

Alcohol 120% greater than >>>> get somthing like Clone CD/DvD to make an image. :)

Not sure exactly what your trying to say there, if I read correctly could you explain why clone cd will do a better job for what he asks than alcohol 120%?
