Simple mercenary Lotto rules for raids

There always seems to be an argument after raids.
I propose the following simple lotto rules to facilitate a nice quick handing out of items.

1. All items go to raid leader during raid.

2. All items in a raid are listed by the raid leader at time of lotto.

3. Raid leader announces players to roll. All players left in lotto (initally everyone in raid) can roll a random 100.

4. Winner (highest roll) choses item from list and drops out of lotto.

5. go to step 3 until all items (and other valuable drops) used up. If more items than players you can start with reduced list again at 1.

Advantages:
a. No chosing which character type drops go to before raids, or having to take a specific character on raid.

b. You can get lucky and get the best item in game for an alt, a friend or to make yourself rich (just as if you were a summoning SM on own).

c. What drops doent matter as you can get stuff for alts/friends

d. the order items are presented for lotto is not an issue, as if you win you pick from whole list.

e. as items and people drop out of lotto you have a higher and higher chance of getting something for your effort.

f. there are no items left at end of lotto, so no arguments as to where extra drops go.

Disadvantages (I see):
a) People will leave raid with stuff they might sell or use for an alt.
Its my opinion this dont matter. the person still played the raid and fairly won the item in a fair lotto.

b) The uber item for your specific class and spec that drops might go to someone else, rather than automatically to you.

c) with lots of players there will be a lot of rolls intially. Its important all bladeturns, speed etc is turned off so there is a nice clear chat window. Also lotto needs to be done in quiet area.

Thats it
what do people think?

I agree with this. The biggest problem i have is that my only 50 alt is a Thane ( I would only ever take my healer in there), and TBH its a waste for me to get decent gear for him that a) gets wasted on PvE only and b) no one else wants to buy at a reasonable cash amount.

And also whats this crap about the raid leader picking his own drop first? Pants, he should role like anyone else.
