I remember going out at least once a every weekend,
then roughly every 2'nd weeked

now...

I hardly ever go out on the town or to private parties..
infact, i can hardly remember the last time i had over the equivelent of
4-5 beers.

it's a big night if I have both a beer for dinner and a late night dram on a weekend.

"like tonight"

i also feel the same and im only 23, but i have been going out on the town pretty solidly for the past 6 years. after a while youve seen it all and cant be doing with the idiots who start fights cos they drank too many shandys. i like to go out sure, but i dont see the point in spending 50 quid every friday night and waking up feeling like ive been hit by a train. id rather go to concerts, gigs, events, something worth the money.

Gladly..

I've gone from smoking 10-20 a day, to barely smoking one a week recently. Just not liked it. Now, when I use to go out clubbing/going to pubs and I started getting a little bored, I'd go out with 2-3 of my friends and have some cigarettes.. Now, that was fun.

Now, as I've pretty much stopped smoking.. I go to a pub, all of a sudden (after about an hour) everyone pulls out their phones and stop being social, for a good 10-20 minutes these days. Now, I'm use to going out for a cigarette at this point.. As I can't/don't now - I've realised, going out as a non-smoker is shit, boring and depressing and I honestly find staying inside more interesting half the time.

Smoking:

Go out -> Cigarette -> talk/socialise -> repeat -> enjoy the night

Non-Smoking:

Go out -> talk -> bored -> bored -> bored -> repeat -> Bitch that it was boring, and that everyone was being unsocial -> repeat

EDIT:

Just to show you. I did the non-smoking thing, and smoking thing when going out before. The time I didn't smoke, I was bored as hell (everyone does the phone thing, which I thought wasn't the point of going out?)

ive heard that one before as well. every night is a shit storm with people arguing "weve got to go here, buy this drink, then we can go there and do this for so long but dont go somewhere else until x time cos its shit". if you end up somewhere not on the schedule everyone moans "this is shit" rather than just having a good fucking time the *****.

with other circles of friends i dont get that problem. we just goto a pub, talk and go home when the place shuts.

olgaline is hammered.

Olga is just getting :-

A) A responsible parent.
B) Getting old and knowing it.
C) Remembering past times and lamenting what he could have done.
D) Reliving something that he can't do any more.

Olga, don't leave her, as that sucks even more than what you have now :)

Wife/GF + kid.

Simple "out going" killer really.

No magic, no special evolution, nothing to do with age.

You've been re-programmed into family mode.

I hate when that happens to my friends, lost way too many good friends to family mode :(

Overdriven, do this;

Go out -> talk/socialise -> repeat -> enjoy the night

Smokers don't care if you smoke or not. Fresh air is as good as an excuse.

I understand what you're on about Olga I used to be a heck of a party animal lol go out every night drink, dance do 'other things' *ahem* that generally involved being naked lol and I enjoyed it while I did it, then I met B2 and we'd go out to eat and talk to eachother.

Now, I think there's no where I'd rather be than at home (even though it's cold, gloomy and periodically gets invaded by slugs) achieving optimum cozy and being 100% relaxed and able to have my evening cigarette in the warm and not have to queue for the toilet lol.

I don't miss 'going out' at all, never get envious of younger people who do it these days and don't think I am missing anything. I think it might be evolution but it's more likely that I am now so comfortable with myself I don't need to be seen or see what other people are showing off.

I do feel sorry for those who get dragged out every night (or drag themselves out every night) just in case something good happens or because they feel it is what they should do because I don't think those people are happy.
