Hi,

Has anyone been to Silverstone AND used the East Entrance?

If so, where the bloody hell is it? If I'm reading supplied maps correctly it's a farm track up to the back of the circuit?

the whole area round there is full of farm tracks. when they kick you out they route you out via them to the main roads. sadly I've only ever come in via the (?) main entrance with all the big carparks and fields for parking.

Arse. Will probably just end up driving to Whittlebury and following the traffic/signs :|

I've been to Silverstone dozens of times, and I've only ever used the main entrance. I've never heard of another, although there area a great many different exits, usually chained and locked. I presume they're for various points of access for machinery.

I'm inclined to think that someone means an east gate, and not an east entrance, or perhaps they mean somewhere down Towcester Road.

Its definitely called the East Entrance according to the official paperwork. I have a PDF from Northants Police from 2010 documenting road closures etc and that "as usual the East Entrance will be closed with exception of teams and media"

Looks like it's almost certainly a farm type entrance. I know there's a few media type people around so might try and squaffle some more info :)

Then I bet it's the entrance just past the second roundabout, where the barrier is. Teams and media traditionally go straight through and over the bridge, although that may change with the new building work.
