Signature Pictures

Guys (and Girls),

Bad news im afraid. Having questioned the powers that be, signature pictures will not be turned on. The option can't be restricted to particular forums and would effect the whole message board system globally. Because of this we feel that signature images will be abused and cause a fair bit of distress to the some users.

I appreciate this is not what you're used to on a lot of the RPG forums but BarrysWorld has to go with the majority in most cases and a lot of the people on these boards are non-RPG users. We do however offer the avatar option still and you can while away the hours trying to fit something meaningful into the tiny space available.

As a passing note, TedTheDog claims full responsibility for this decision and is currently getting a new flame retardant suit fitted.

what are the restrictions on custom avatars? it might just be me but it wont let me have a custom one will it all become clear on my 20th post?

I don't mind too much, and I find this fairly odd since I am usually this crazy sig making nutcase on most forums.
But at least we have the custom avatars that you will be able to set when you have reached a total of 20 posts, and the text signatures will do fine.

But indeed... whining will just lead to the large amouts of moderation just like on the GOA ex-forums and we don't want that now do we

Hepp, I have to agree on this one. I tried these forums on a dialup line... didnt go to fast, so no pic's is kinda good to help the unlucky ones with a 56k modem.

Just have to make intresting txt sigs. (Trine, yer sig is the best one yet )

But then again if you limit the sigs to maybe 10kb they would be no problem.... they get saved on your HD anyway and you will not have to load them again.
But the decision stands and I have no problem with it.

Well I'm happy with an Avatar and a text Sig.

Although some of the old Sigs were funny, some of them were pretty awful and too big (dimensions not filesize).

It used to be the large sigs that gave away the fact I wasn't actually working, now its just the green colour

Landar's sig, that was great! One of the best since it was so damn funny and I happen to like cats
I saw a few nice ones, for example Impact had a cool one, whatever his forum name was.
