When did the playing of DAoC turn into a serious affair with people insulting other people personally and general bad blood being thrown about willy nilly?

Can someone tell me where the ideology of playing a game for fun, disappeared to?

had just begining to play on this server, so just looking the last thread on this rvr forum and .

I m agree with u this is a game and it s made for fun.
It s RPG so u could play when u logged as bad guy or good guy.

But a forum must be fair and not the place to say "My dick is bigger than urs"

But to be able to speak together, but actually i think thats better if i could only read " this.... speaking in a language u don t understood" .

Excal people just go on the pryd forum and u will see the fun we add between realm.

Its fun to death its fun to kill ...............

SO please stop to speak as dishes, its a game and it s not because we loose or or we win a relic that we must insult the other. But just said yep i had mich fun when u bolted me twice around 1000000000000 dmg )).

Im proud to loose or win we it s do in a fun mode.

I just hit 50 and really getting involved in RvR now and all I seem to see if flames, and well I have an american account and they just seem so much friendlier inter-realm on there, don't look at the VN Boards their even worse than here but in game people seem so much nicer

I just feel like crying sometimes with frustration when i see all the flames flying about

Makes me so angry I could burst! Help me Nicolas, I think I have to gank Mids some more

The Hibs seem to be the nicest people on this server

The fact is that some people like to flame. It's their habit and they can't help it. They read your 100 word post and pick out one sentence out of context and start making an issue out of it/nothing.

I usually just laugh at them. Sometimes I even feel sorry for their singlemindedness. Actually the boards would be quite empty without flaming.

Nevertheless all the flames and crap that gets written on these boards I'm still looking forward meeting you face to face on the frontiers Light.

how crap would this game be if you never argued with enemy realms, if everyone just got along, after fights they'd congratulate each other on a 'splendid battle'.

nanananna, thats not what ya want. after any fight you wanna slag the person off as much as you possibly can until a) they ignore you forever, b) they kill you or c) they kill themselves.

i honestly think im the only person on excalibur that keeps the tension up between realms. its a tough job, but somebody's gotta do it.

Kinda makes me slightly sad reading these boards these days. I remember the good old days of Beta, when there was a single community, excited about the games future and it's possibilities. Now we have 3 communities (on Excalibur, at least) who genuinely seem to hate other if these boards are anything to go by.

It seems unbelievable to me, but some people cannot seem to genuinely detach themselves from the character they play in daoc. 'I hate albs', someone says, but since when does that extend into hating that player in real life ? Jeez...

I came to this game from FPS, and can safely say that my experiences of MMORPGs are tainted by the flaming (especially regarding relics) on these boards. Sure I flame occasionally, but on the grounds that what someone says on the boards is BS, not because of how they choose to play the game, or which freaking realm they play.

i hate anyone that plays an enemy realm, because they chose to play that realm. not my fault. especially hibs.

as i said, what kind of game would it be if we were nice to each other!? it'd be rubbish.

You can hate your opponent when you play a game, but when stop playing you show your opponent common decency and respect. Its a person behind a keyboard playing a game, not an Armsman in the fictional pixellated world of Albion ffs. Get a grip.

Like you wear plate, carry a polearm or could kick my ass in real life Karam, sheesh. The only people I hate are people who have wronged me in real life. People I meet playing computer games in my role as a character in a fictitious world don't count.

Do you hate your opponents when you play football, or whatever real life games you (probably don't) play? Do you shake their hands after the game?

secondly, it is a computer game, and the game is extended to these forums. we talk about the game in these forums, and therefore i treat people as i would in game.

and to be honest, one of my favourite things about the internet is being able to piss people off enourmously without anyone being able to do anything about it. great isnt it?

If it is an RP flaming im aggre with u .

But :
1) most of the thread are not going on this way.
2) theres a different between flaming and kiding.
3) U R charactare hade to hate other realm character BUT NOT THE PLAYER

Thats make a little difference no !

Personnaly prefer kiding <Karam btw that wasn t u i see running cowardly with 20 keep guard on ur ass, looking like a chicken trying to fly>

That s an exemple of sentance with no hate against the player u are but just again a character from a realm.
