Does anyone else get the Echo Effect in CS_Siege, while playing and going onto a New Map?

If so is there a way to fix it while still in the game (without shutting down CS)

Crap lol, ah well... maybe it'll be fixed in the so called "1.4" update.. lol

I may be wrong....... but it's supposed to be there. Adds atmosphere or something like that :)

nooo, i aint talkin about when your actually PLAYING siege, i mean the map AFTER siege, you still get the Echo from Siege?? lol

If you have an SB live soundcard disable EAX and renable it on the map after siege.

That of course requires the ability to alt tab out of CS, which I can do :p

Well, i am gettin a SB Live! Card very very soon, so i guess it will be sorted then, and you also said that you could Alt n' Tab, do you mean when youi come back, the sound STILL works?

I think this depends largely on your setup, is i run in d3d mode I can alt/tab no probs, if I run in opengl it fooks up. Unfortunately gl is much better for me in game (voodoo3 3000).

So maybe you can......... maybe you can't :)

I just installed my SB Live! Card, but Ch3tan you said Disable EAX, do you know where to locate it? i didnt get a manual or anythin with mine lol?

I use the "play eax game" preset in the speaker control panal. You can select eax disabled, light or normal effects.

I was told that if you type: room_type <1-30> you can change the sound on seige (or any map) dunno bout any other sound formats that HL uses, MisterDead told me that one on cs_prospeedball last night and it works just fine! :)

Try room_type 27 ewwww

Dont use EAX at all, it makes the entire game sound echoy like siege. I have it turned off and still sometimes get the echo, but only after about 10minutes of play, and it usually goes by the end. Just a small bug in the map I guess.
Try doing a retry in console if it is still echoing on the next map.

Do s_reverb 0 before you come near the trigger area which makes the room type change, or before you enter the map.

Doesn't always work, sadly :/

I had this problem for ages, until someone pointed out to me that playing death/violence games wasn't quite appropriate on a sunday morning in church.

Yes xs is correct

room_type 0 will remove all echo effects that maps like siege add.

dunno wot ur talkin bout exactly but the command
"stopsound" (without speechmarks) in the console resets the sounds and that may solve it.
dunno tho :/
