Sick of hearing the same old thing ?

I read a number of game related forums, many of them CS or HL orientated and the one thing thats really getting up my nose is all these 'Old Skool' CS'ers going on about how good things used to be.

Don't any of them realise that things are still great and thats mainly due to the lack of Old Skool moaners and whingers on CS servers ?

I've not been around the Game community long but this really is the top place to be when it comes to CS and HL.

It was in their minds though. Eveything was new, exciting and fun. Now they've become jaded and are playing for the continual respect from their 'e-friends'. Shouting down any new players for mistakes that they themselves made when they first starting playing.

Just ignore them, or threaten to hunt them down and gut them and their family like a fish, either is acceptable :p

Thats a complete lie damn it. I (and many others) are not jaded, and never made those mistakes. And things were better many beta's ago :)

For the first time since the early betas when I started playing I'm enjoying CS. This might be to do with the fact I only play on the KEA/GAME.net servers though. I'd join a clan, but that'd probably spoil my fun :)

Things always are better when you look back on them. It's just if you go back to it, it's never the same.

I am 39 years old, I know about this shit. It is totally true.

I might add though that on BW there isnt much of that attitude, and on our KEA server we have a laugh mostly, and its not like that cos almost all the people who play there we know and have been playing for years :)

But I killed loads of people around beta 7.1, 1.1 I could rack up 20 kills in a few rounds. Now I am poo. So my claim that things were better then is true for me. So ner.

Old betas are always worse, except when its dod, when they are better , or sometihng.

Only reason old schoolers whine so much about the good old days is because everyone shouts cheat, interp, bs, n00b, cfg etc etc

It had none of that in the "old" days and was actually alot more enjoyable on public servers

Easy Ladies.

At this point I feel its only fair to say that I myself am 32 and have played CS since the start, so u'll never hear me screaming or shouting about noobs, cheats or aim botters because I've been there, worn the tee shirt and consumed the soft drink !

The Game servers imo are the only place to play CS these days, no muppets, no to##ers, no whingers.

Oh btw Sonicyouth, do we know each other from years gone by, or was that another life time ?

That felt good.

The only reason people cry wolf is because there are so many fucking wolves. You can hardly blame them sometimes.

Anyway. There are too many people who think they are "someone" because they can rack up a few kills in cs. Let's face it. Good or not, yer still a sad bastard.


I have years of pent up rage in me :(

used to play on pubbies, pubbies and more pubbies

Wasnt interested in clans - never fancied matches tbh.

Then, I got fed up with the "Quake Style" playing (for frags) and joined 2 clans :eek:

Now I never play on pubbies - only on the clan servers and those servers I know and love (e.g. KEA ;) )

Doesnt really matter what score I get (as long as I nail some KEA biatch!!!)

Lets put it into perspective :

ITS ONLY A FECKING GAME!!!

If you dont enjoy it, dont play it.
