Have any updates been made to the existing continents?
If you have Shrouded Isles, then the existing continents will be upgraded in some ways. They'll see the new water system, and all the trees have been overhauled to look more organic. Also, all player and monster textures will be doubled in resolution so they'll look much more sharp.
About the new graphics engine, will players who chose not the purchase the expansion pack still be able to get the engine online?
No. The engine is included as part of Shrouded Isles only.
What about players who would rather use the older engine? Will that option be available to them?
Any player that wants to go to the new continents must be running Shrouded Isles, not the original game.
