SI lockups upon zoning

SI has been great for the most part. However often when zoning back to Domnann or to DL i get fps drop to 0 which siezes up my PC, resulting in a LD.. and have to restart.

Another problem is the sound fucks up sometimes, goes crackly/breaks up, usually in situations where theres lots goin on.

Anyone had similar problems? I have a leadtek gf4, p4 winxp, 512 dual ddr ram, 7200 hdd. Asus p4p800vm mobo. Latest drivers for each.

I had that too just now mass lagspikes making it unplayable then ld,with a p4 2.66ghz 1024 ddr ram and geforce fx5900 ultra.Definetly isn't my pc i am sure there is something wrong with this patch.

I've had this for a while but only when zoning to the following places:

Caer Gothwaite
Castle Sauvage
Aegirhamn
Svasud Faste

i.e. in both Albion and Midgards portal keep and SI portal.

Usually sound breaks up then goes into a loop accompanied by a screen freeze.

Oddly, this doesn't happen on my second PC which is a crappy old P3. I have tried combinations of DirectX and GeForce drivers but zilch effect.

There is a posibility you CPU or memory chips are overheating i had the same problem until i upgraded my fan system in my pc.
To try it out get a small usuall fan open you pc and have it blow inside and see what happens.

The loading times of the game is when memory is used at its fullest so even if its not a temperature problem check your memory chips and your Virtual Memory settings.

Turning shadows back to classic worked for me.
