SI Info [SPOILER!!!111]

Ok, as some may know, I'm testing Alb-SI mainly. I've got various bits of info on things there, and I will start off with saying, watch your faction. :) Factions in SI are very important, quests, creature towns/dungeons all change depending on what you kill.

Today I spent time killing undead - lichs, skeletons, ghosts, outside what is called "Little Haven" in Caldey (44,17). It's a barbarian town, and you start off aggro to them. However, they are now neutral, and a nice haven (good for PvP, as they are all orange/red to 50). They have merchants, and 4 L40+ Kill Tasks.

Rose wants Soul Shrouds from Phantom Magi (24,089,951 XP so far), blue/yellow to 50.
Tristram Adamson wants Ebon Tibia from Ebon Skeletons, blue/yellow to 50.
Huidelon Cariston wants Pitch Hand from Pitch Skeletons, yellow/orange to 50.
Waleron Douglas wants Decayed Water Orbs from Evil Haunted Rowans, blue/yellow to 50.

I'll add various bits of info, based on what you'd like to know here...probably find them out there on the net, or on VN boards too.

Have they spruced up the rest of albion much? I personally would like to see more monsters around camp. forest and avalon marsh... more incentive to hunt outside salisbury, cornwall and the dungeons under level 30 - although it would be nice to get a bonus of some kind from killing in salisbury, because it really isn't very rewarding at the moment.

Lyonesse appears the same - I checked the Pygmy spots... Cornwall, looks exactly the same.
Avalon Marsh, looks exactly the same.

In fact, I'd go so far as to say that, unless it's directly mentioned as a patch fix/change...you'll not find anything different (other than GFX).

They put a lot of work into SI, and honestly? The Alb SI zones are by far some of the nicest I've seen, followed by some Hib zones.

Spill the beans!

Which level/class are you 'testing' with.

Where do the SI-zones link to mainland Albion... or are the new zones linked to different parts around the current map?

Are the mobs in SI new models, or revamped Brownie Rovers with blue skin to make them look different? :D

There is a portal, at that pier just to the south of Adribard's Retreat in Avalon Marsh. This is the only way TO SI without using the Grim Reaper. Getting back to the mainland can be done using this same portal, or by using a teleport scroll to Fort Sauvage.

Hell no. There are a squillion new skins. Gawd, I laughed today when: "Urchin scavenger squeels, "Hehehe, look at what I made out of what I found just lying around!" and then this miniature (1/4 the size of a small lurikeen) construct charge at you and stand jabbing you in the shin with his pin-sized sword. Followed by: "The scavenger giggles as he unleashes another of his crudely crafted creations!"

Sweet. About the only skins that are the same are...um...the humans. Honest. You'll recognise some of the sounds, but, um...ok...maybe some of the zombie/skeleton skins are the same, but well...they're skeletons. :p

Constructs, metal creatures gone wrong.
Orcs and Ogres at war with each other - I walked into the middle of a small war.
Creatures hunting each other.
Creatures that ACTUALLY ambush you.
Factions, glorious factions.

IMHO, SI is the greatest thing to hit PvE. There are some nice quests, and some REALLY nasty creatures.

Oh, and in case, when you start it up, you find that you're getting quite a lot of those random "unique" items, don't worry, SI zones are made that way.

the SI dungeons also generate the random unique items we now have in the frontier dungeon? or is it in all SI zones?

your talking about faction how important it is? what kind of mobs do we need to kill and where can we find them? I read something about it on another board too i think there is some dungeon or so where you have lots of nasty creatures in front of it and that you better kill orcs so they turn neutral? could be something else guess i need to search for it again

Ok... the basics of the the factions are something like this...

Lammia (Snakewoman) and Ogres hate the Drakoran.
Ogres and Drak's hate Lammia.
Lammia and Drak hate Ogres...

Um...hmm...let me do a quick tour and get the exact names for you, considerring the Lammia (Cryptos Mythicos) are now friendly. ;)

Factions

(Kill, +, -) (Name of creature killed)

]Kutaca, Kulaclan+, Pixie Urchins- (Orc Derelict)
]Kulaclan, Cryptos Mythicos+, Followers of Orylle+, Kutaca+ (Orc Lure)
]Cryptos Mythicos, Drakoran Legion+, Kulaclan+, Followers of Orylle+ (Molting Grifflet)
]Undead Servants of Morgana, CM+, DL-, Lacula Sept+, Caldey Outpost+ (White Light, Mountain Light, Restless Ghost)
]FoO, CM+, Kulaclan+, Pixie Urchins+ (Thrawn Ogre Thresher)
]Chaotic Constructs, Drakoran Legion (various metal constructs)
]Drakoran Legion, CM+, Children of Orylle+, Clan Drau'gyn-, Clan Wi'voron-, Clan Syhr'phint-, Clan Dry'ak-, Clan Vyr'em-, USoM- (Any Drakoran)
]Pixie Urchins, FoO+, Kulaclan+, Kutaca- (Urchin Scavenger)

Now, who's who?

]Kutaca, I haven't been able to find out exact WHO these are.
]Kulaclan, well, they're the orcs of the Ruins of Maab and all over.
]Cryptos Mythicos, Lammia, Griffons, Winged Serpents.
]USoM, basically, anything undead. :)
]Followers of Orylle, these are the ogres OUTSIDE the Krondon dungeon.
]Children of Orylle, these are the ogres INSIDE the Krondon dungeon.
]Chaotic Constructs, all the largish metal type creatures wanderring around the one forest.
]Drakoran Legion, well, these are tied as your main enemy. You'll really only find standard Drak's outside of Avalon, but once inside, you'll find that some of the clans mentioned, actually opposed each other. But honestly, forget even trying to get any of these friendly. :)
]Pixie Urchins, awwww, wub these little guys. They are the "tomte" of Albion. They are really cute, and they have ambusher types that, well, pop out of thin air to attack you and run away.
]Caldey Outpost, this is a highlander barbarian outpost near Caer Sidi. They have some highish KT's, and a few merchants. No bindstone...so I really don't understand the point of a Healer there. :p
]Lacula Sept, this one, I also have been unable to get a pinpoint on. All I do know, is that either this faction, or the Kutaca (guessing this one) is linked to that Amphiptere flying creature near the Caldey Outpost. (it's Purple ++++++), as it is now neutral to me, and since that Orc Derelict was aggro and a Kutaca, I'll go with this creature being Lacula Sept...not sure.

Hope that helps a bit. ;)

i think you should warn about the spoilers. not read the thread fully, but i can understand you being about giddy as your playing it already, but some of us see SI as a way of helping daoc hold our attentions with supprises etc, not like an everyday patch.

Well, easiest thing is simply not to read any thread that mentions SI then.

A lot of people have already planned which items they want.

As I said, nobody is forcing you to read this thread.

Brannor, have you played the Necro or Reaver? Or seen them in action? If so could you tell us how they do in PvE (especially the Reaver)

The Reaver I found a bit iffy, may be some bugs in it, not quite sure. The pulsing PBAE is nice, and will be an assassin detector in RvR. The reaver I found to be kinda like a thane I guess.

A Death Sight Necro using power drain to pull, and life steal in combat against undead, will XP exceptionally fast. INSANELY fast. Necro's take a lot of getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, you will XP very quickly.

went back today to exact vengeance on thoser damn Scourgi's that stopped me from getting a KT earlier .. but the good part was (besides the Botonoid seedling lure conned grey and the scourgi conned blue) that now i got an group bonus added to the :D = more xp than killing a yellow  (btw the lure in question dies when it triggers the "real" mob so you dont have to fight both :))

LW in hand .. my soon-to-be-mini-moose looks killer.. but will look even better as a 2.5 ft m00se :)

I've got a lvl 21 Necro atm, and i'm finding that if I solo, with no buffs, I can get about a lvl an hour, probably quicker if I really put my mind to it. Obviously it'll slow down a bit, but it is still very fast compared to other classes.

Bear in mind that the Necro is heavily bugged, and in groups the 'pet' is hard to control. This means you are best taking a back seat and just acting as a power transfer to casters.

From reading various forums, the Necro's end game is pretty rubbish at the moment. The 'pet' of a lvl 50 Necro will be blue and easy to kill for other lvl50 characters, and against Epic mobs, its very very hard to get a hit, as everything you throw at mobs is resisted.

Once you get to 50, Necros are very effective power levellers for alts.
