SI freezing when zoning

I have a very annoying problem with SI. It freezes when i zone or after i play a character then switch to another character.forcing me to reset pc.
Im using a 1.7 xp , 512 ddr, GF4 ti4800 video card, Asus mobo with ali bridge running windows xp. Have tried several drivers and turning off antialiasing and antrsoptic flltering, turned off reflective water and shadows.
Every thing runs fine except as i say when i zone.

Can anyone using a ti4800 suggest a driver to use from nvdia or shed any light pls.

A guess do you use Via 4in1 drivers to?

Just a guess does your motherboard require Via 4in1 drivers to?

If so try the new 4.45 ones they may solve the problem. They solved lots of problems for me with SI.

Thnx for the answer but its not a via bridge its an ALI . No updates on this i know of

that might very well be the problem then. your lack of correct mobo drivers.
sounds very likely to me at least

No dont think so, the ali drivers are very stable and ive had no problems with newer software. Its a realatively new mobo and there arent updated drivers.
Just having to work round it at moment
