I have the following config, and the SI client is crashing or kicking to desktop after 2-5 mins, sometimes I can play for 20-30, and then it crashes, and after reboot/relog it crashes after 2-3 mins. The classic client works well.

ABIT KR7-133
Athlon XP 1800+
512 MB DDR RAM
Inno3D Geforce4 Ti-4200 8X 128MB
WIndows98SE
Detonator 41.09 (tried with 43.45 but it was the same or worth)

DirectX 8.1
Latest drivers for mobo
Service Pack on

It was flawless for 3-4 hours, then crashed, logged back and crashed again in 1 min

Sorry for the doublepost.

The problem has been solved, it was overheating.

As a suggestion try coming away from the detonator drivers and use the manufacturer latest drivers. I know the det. drivers are supposed to be good, but u may find these are geared towards the FPS community a bit too much.

I would guess u've done reinstalls of OS so wont suggest scandisk/defrag {however if not, remove game completely, scandisk/defrag, reinstall game. Cant stress enuf how useful these t00ls r}

For those with ALOT more tech ability and probably insane you could download windbg, setup a second computer with windbg to monitor ure daoc comp and c what usermode errors it comes up with when you crash out. {remember ure symbol files though;}

i h8 to say it but i had the same probs after installing SI, i didnt bother reinstalling OS though to resolve. My old pc was lagging behind times neway so i went and bought a new one, had no probs since.

Try rebuilding with XP/Latest Manufacturer Vid Drivers/Latest Modem or Nic Drivers/XP Service Pack 1/ DAoC/DAoC SI and try that.. don't bother installing nething else, and dont bother upgrading/installing DX 8.1/9 {8.1 comes with XP, 9 is p00 from what i hear}

thats about it m8,
