After my corp board
8WA - 0300
Razor was forming up caps to go hit I1Y poses (The station we love to hate)...just milling about UHKL, trying to bullshit and have fun. I believe that the bosses were waiting to see if anything was going to develop when goons went to kill a pos in 8WA before we moved out. The goon target pos had a Capital Ship Assembly Array, and was almost certainly building a titan. Given the effort that they went to try and save it (sacrificing carriers) it had to have something.
We were just milling about waiting for the cyno when FC comes on all excited, telling us to wake up and get ready. Faction ammo, capital overview. For those of you that aren't cap pilots, this is the kind of thing that you here when you're about to hotdrop someone or jump into the middle of a capital fight. The cyno is telling everyone to get ready to jump to him - do it manual and don't wait for broadcast. What that means is that as soon as he cynos, he's expecting to die, which means there's lots of sub caps there as well. All in all, it sounds like a bit of a dicey situation we're getting into.
Cyno goes up, we get a good clean jump - 25 or so of us are out and into the fight. FC comes on...PRIMARY TARGET IS SHRIKE, SEIGE ON LOADING, SEIGE GREEN UNTIL THE FIGHT IS OVER. Cyno is dead, we're all waiting to load, unsure if we're in or not. It seems that it's not going to be dicey at all, just a matter of bringing heat to shrike (ha get it) before he can get into the shields.
I guess (I don't really know) that shrike had just jumped in, goons warped dictors to the cyno and bubbled him before he chose to log out. He logged back on, DD'd and tried to get out, but he was 'right fucked' as our British members would say. I'm not sure how many of us were on him, but there was a lot. By the time I loaded grid and targetted him (We all had trouble targetting) he was already at half armour, which makes me think that PL/Goons/TCF fleet was there too, and in significant numbers. All in all, I think I managed to fire off 3 volleys before he was down. Given the speed he died, it seems hard to believe that we didn't kill him that time the server crashed during the first invasion...there was hundreds of people shooting him. I know that was with BS and shit, but still. Anyhoo, after shrike went down, we had to kill support and shit that was bubbling us at the pos, but we didn't lose anything aside from drones.
After Shrike, we warped to the CSAA pos, where we killed some carriers that were in Triage trying to rep, then the pos itself. That was fun - the carriers went down like BS. They were wholly fit for cap recharge and a rapid shield boost, and had zero resists. One thanatos in the shield actually died before I even managed to lock him (After we killed the pos). We killed a bunch more sub caps - was fun. CSAA went down.
Afterwards, we jumped out to our home away from home and killed towers in Querious. It wasn't as much fun - it's harder to bullshit after something like that. In the end, it was a very, very good day for our side. I'm interested to see if Bob shows up today/tomorrow to go after the goon towers they put so much time into shooting yesterday. Being in razor, I know a thing or two about the impact of titan losses, and our first one was big. Second one less so. Given that they've lost 5 now, they might be further down the curve - I hope so. At least one more weekend of combat would be welcome.
