Just been and seen it. Nearly as good as the first one, might be better, due to me having seen the first one twenty something times all in all.

Will have to wait until the DVD is out until I make up my mind as to which one is best.

Deffo worth the fiver it costs to see it in the cinema.

:D

Damn right, it rocks. Antonio Banderas as Puss in Boots is surprisingly hilarious. Also the visual detail in some of the scenes is amazing. A must see, I reckon.

The girls from work are threatening to drag me along to this sometime this week. Do I need to have seen Shrek, or will I get along watching this without getting totally lost?

Its funnier and better if you watch the first one.

THis film really does manage to far surpass a great movie in the original. Puss in Boots steals the show. There are so many jokes in this I want to go see the damned thing again.

It's a great film but the animation is a little bit dodgy in places. Shame on them.

Clever film and rip roaringly funny in places, especially some of the little touches (the blind mouse falling down between the grating made me chuckle). Also some old jokes were delivered stylishly ("Why the long face?") had me giggling throughout.

Don't think it is as clever as the original, and certainly not groundbreaking like the first film was. The plot was exceedingly weak with little story to be told.

So am I the only person who thought it was "good but not great"? :(

It was a bit slow at the begining, but the last half hour was fast paced and fun. That hero song always makes the end of a film great. Remember Short Circuit 2 ;)

I thought both films were massively overrated. That said, they were good fun.

loved the first one the second one made an excellent sequel

Highlights for me were the police camera action and the mission impossible scene

There are many other memorable moments however I would like to see it a few more times to see what I missed.

Just watched Shrek 2 today, I have to say, the movie was absolutely great. I liked the first one, but this one is even better. Well to say something about it, the animations were amazing! Dreamworks have really outdone themselves on this one! Beautiful landscapes, effects, facial animations,... the whole bunch. As for the plot, I loved it as well. Including this many referals to other well-known movies such as Mission Impossible, Alien, Godzilla, ... really made me chuckle.
The Godmother fairy :p, was great, she reminded me of 'Mom' in Futurama in a way :p
The voice acting was also done excellent. Banderas did a great job for Puss in boots, his accent was so fitting, it made the character hilarious, cute and sexy at the same time. Murphy, great as well. His smooth-talking combined with the facial expressions of Donkey are excellent. Myers did great for Shrek again, there's something about it, I just love to hear him talk with that accent. Diaz as Fiona ... such a sweet voice :D Oh and I also loved Cleese as King Harold ... his smooth, but sometimes a bit nervous talking were fitting for the King as well, especially in his 'situation' (see film). And last but not least Jennifer Saunders as the Godmother Fairy. Did anyone else just love to hear her talk? Also, I didnt know she could sing this well! Her version of Holding out for a Hero is just as good, if not better than the original.
It gave the film a killer ending, the dance scene and shrek coming to 'save' fiona on that music were both romantic and exciting
So conclusion, a great film and if you liked the first one, then you'll love this one!
Tbh I was a bit worried about a possible shrek 2, I thought it was gonne be this 'Shrek 2: the return of...' or 'Shrek and Fiona's silly swamp adventure' thing. But it was original, amusing, exciting, touching,... at the same time. Nice work indeed!
