well, I have my xp1800+ running at 2000+ by bumping the FSB on my epox mobo. and 0.1V extra iirc. I'd rather have "really" unlocked it but at the time I didn't feel up to it heh [lazy bast]
it's cooled by a dragon orb III with a 7200rpm delta [again iirc]

Well my shiny new gfx card arrived yesterday(Radeon 9700), and it is being sent back today, I got 8800 3dMarks with it and I got around that with my old Radeon 8500, is it because my old Radeon was an actual ATI one and this new one was made by a third party(Sapphire)?

It's probably because the 9700 is a DX9 card, and so isn't optimised for 3D Mark.

That's a bit of a guess though.

Hmmmm, I never thought of that Will, it sure is a DX9 card, although it did say on the site where i ordered it from (www.savastore.com/products/?CsOp=15&code=10248382&pid=45&tid=3) that it was an ATI Radeon, so I'm sending it back and I am gonna wait for the actual ATI one to be released. This is the only reason I ordered it off them 'cause I thought it was ATI.

I managed to get this P4 2ghz running at 2.26ghz, then got bored and tried to push it further and it stopped booting at 2.4ghz (ish), anything below was pretty much fine :)

That said, I've still got it running at default speed atm.

I didn't think ATI were releasing their own in Europe. Gigabyte do a 9700 Pro if you want a better known manufacturer.

ATI aren't - they stated that their partners have free reign over europe for this generation and may return for the next.

I'd go for the hercules, sweet ramsinkage and a decent stock copper cooler - 0wns the other boards we've tested by a long way!

at home :
Pentium 166 running at Pentium 200 :D
celeron 300a running at 450mhz :) (yeah its an oldie and i love it!)

best so far has to be one of the recent celerons (not the frigging high-end P4 machines) at where I work :)
733mhz Celeron running at a whopping 1.1 gig on 100mhz FSB
we went farther... oh yes we did :D
took it right up to the 133mhz bus (courtesy of a specially modified compaq machine) to the staggering 1.4gig mark :eek6:

had it running nice and stable on the Win2k Server OS for a week... until we broke the motherboard

chips still running today as well, but back at the 733mhz mark :(
