Should i start?

Been looking at Planetside and think it looks really good, so i was wondering if you guys that are already playing it recommend the game? Also would love to start in a realm with some pryd hibbies in it too

I hear that the Terran Republic has afew of you in it, but is currently not doing too well (but i guess that follows suit for me in Hib ).

Basicaly what i'm looking for is some advise on if the game is worth starting (given that i dont have a world of spare time to play, so i need something really good to make it worth while) and if i do, where should i start? Just some general info on game would be great

Some of these threads (and many more on other forums) will reflect some peoples viewpoint of the longevity of PSide.

Without long term goals the game becomes naught but a glorified FPS.
That's great if that's what you want. It is not and never will be a MMORPG. Bear that in mind.

I've restarted my sub with PS, but I doubt I'll go another month after that.

Well, I can't tell you whether you'll like it - that's a pretty personal decision, but I will say that this game is very good for people who don't have a lot of time to devote to playing. There's a lot of functionality to help you get into the game quickly:

a) A central point (the sanctuary) to pick up a squad (if you want to)
b) Hot-spots, that allow you to find out where the fighting is
c) Get a vehicle cert and you can drive straight out of the sanctuary to the three connecting continents (and there are instant teleports to get you to the three warp-gates on the santuary).
d) The HART, which allows you to drop into any open continent (every 10 minutes)

Add to this the fact that anyone can solo with pretty much any cert (though some are more effective than others) and that pick-up squads are easy to find (you don't need to be in the same level range to contribute).

If you really want to save travel time you can join NC Werner because most of teh fighting appears to go on in our back-yard. VS and TR both seem to enjoy invading NC more than each others' continents

Just make sure that you try all the Weapons and Vehicles in the Training Range on your Sanctuary.
You'll get enough exp for an extra BR or two.
If you manage to get a fully loaded ANT to a friendly/neutral base with with a (nearly) depleted Silo and unload it, you'll probably be ~BR5-6 already

PS isnt all that to be honest, but worth a try. I say wait till first free month ends and SWG comes out ... then just observe Barysworld reaction to it all and posts re the change of atmosphere. So to sum up .. if i were you, i would wait for another week or so, then decide to try or not to try

We are doing ok. We can hold our own. Plus there are a few hibbies here in Last Line of Defence outfit. IE: Reedemer/Cernos/Maleg/Lasiien to name but a few.

When we work as a team we can defeat anyone.
